      Job summary

      Applications are invited for the above full time post for this 660 bed acute hospital serving a local population of approximately 400,000. The maternity service had 5500 deliveries per year. This appointment will be made in accordance with the Terms and Conditions of Service for Hospital Medical and Dental Staff (England) 2002.

      The appointee will have training in Paediatrics, confident in managing Paediatric medical emergencies and assess patients in general Paediatric outpatient clinics.

      The successful post holder will join 12 WTE middle grade Paediatric rota made up of ST3+ Paediatric trainees and Senior clinical fellows, providing cover to Paediatric Assessment unit, Inpatient wards including High dependency care and outpatient clinic. They will work closely with the extended MDT team of nurses, Advanced Clinical practitioners, Dieticians, Physiotherapists pharmacist and play team, consultants as well as professionals from other subspecialty teams.

      Main duties of the job

      Assessment and initial management of patients referred to the Paediatric Assessment Unit from Primary care and Emergency Department

      Attending Paediatric emergencies in Emergency Department and on the ward

      Inpatient ward round, including high dependency care with management planning and co-ordination of care in liaison with attending consultant

      Assessment and management planning of patients in outpatient clinic with consultant input and supervision

      Participation in teaching and training and appropriate
