- Ensuring that all activities are carried out with full regard to site licence requirements, statutory
- regulations, company and local directives, procedures and Safety Rules.
- Developing a team of up to 15 technicians into an effective delivery team with a strong culture of nuclear & conventional safety.
- Supporting and developing commissioning technicians with the assistance of both internal and external training providers.
- Supporting commissioning managers in delivering commissioning tests to plan and identify mitigation strategies where needed.
- Planning execution of works, including integration of detailed plans with other teams and trades to de-clash works.
- Working with commissioning engineers to ensure successful test execution & overcome non-conformities from commissioning tests.
- Attending daily focus meetings and commissioning test panels as appropriate.
- Coordinating and supporting services from the wider organisation to ensure test teams have necessary equipment to perform tests in line with schedule.
- Undertaking oversight of commissioning activities, ensuring safety and best practice is at the heart of everything we do.
- Educated to at least HNC level in an electrical engineering subject. Candidates without this qualification may be considered should they have significant experience.
- Demonstratable experience of carrying out commissioning tests in a regulated environment.
- Experience of leading technical trade teams working in an industrial environment.
- Background in power generation or other high hazard industry such as Oil & Gas/utilities.
- Detailed working knowledge of Electrical distribution and control systems such as Low and High Voltage switchgear, Inverters, & UPS systems.
- Detailed working knowledge of standard industry practices for testing and commissioning.
- Excellent communicator, with the ability to build effective teams.
- Ability to carry out resource scheduling and planning,
- Time served trade apprenticeship.
- NEBOSH or IOSH.
- DSEAR qualifications such as COMPEX.
- PRINCE practitioner.
- CSCS Black Card or ECS Gold Card.
- BS7671 18th edition.
- Working knowledge of CDM regulations.

At Hinkley Point C (HPC) we are building two new nuclear reactors, the first in a new generation of nuclear power stations in the UK, providing low carbon electricity for around six million homes.

We are seeking experienced Commissioning Technicians - Team Leaders to form part of an expanding team.
In your role, you will be responsible for supporting the electrical commissioning managers to line manage a team of Commissioning Technicians (circa 15) with a strong culture of nuclear safety. The technicians in your team will be carrying out commissioning tests of electrical systems to agreed procedures, to ensure the successful commissioning of Hinkley point C.
You will provide oversight of day-to-day commissioning activities, coordination of resources requirements and planning of commissioning tests including provisions of support services.

You will be organised & self-motivated, with a positive attitude and be able to motivate others on a journey to excellence. You'll need drive, a sense of ownership and a “can do” attitude.
You will be required to demonstrate the highest standards of nuclear professionalism and safety.
You will have experience of line managing teams working in an industrial environment where safety hazards are tightly controlled and managed to ensure a Zero Harm.
