      Senior Marketing Country Manager

      UK/Ireland – Remote

      The role

      As the lead Illumina representative for Marketing in the UK and Ireland, this individual will be responsible for developing and implementing marketing strategies, planning activities associated with key market opportunities , and actively managing the market development strategies in these two countries.

      Responsibilities will include

      • Work with senior management, regional teams, and product management to develop advocate, communicate and implement clinical marketing strategies for key target markets in the UK and Ireland.
      • Acts as primary marketing interface with local commercial team and interacts with various clinical customer types, providing a bidirectional conduit to channel market information, and VOC / VOS to both internal and external stakeholders through programs and sales enablement activities.
      • Partner with sub-regional commercial teams, segment marketing, product marketing, and supporting functions (medical affairs, market access, scientific affair, government affair) to develop and implement local market development strategies for key target segments in the clinical, life science and applied markets
      • Build and manage close relationships with KOLs and industry influencers to achieve market development goals and stay abreast of emerging market trends
      • Collaborate within a complex, matrixed organizational structure, demonstrate an ability to organize projects, and see them through to completion. Work with internal and external stakeholders, partners, and governments to enable clinical customers to operate in both regulated and unregulated markets.
      • Ensures the monitoring of industry, competitive and regulatory landscape in country and provide local market expertise to the Illumina team.
      • Develop scientific and clinical proof points to increase system placements and reagent utilization. Generate local data where required to support registration and reimbursement efforts
      • Qualify and define collaboration opportunities with key strategic partners/labs
      • Synthesize customer experiences and desires into new product concepts in partnership with Product Marketing

      Preferred background, skills , and experience

      • Significant experience with genomics technologies, products and /or applications; and/or significant experience in life science, translational research and / or CE-IVD regulated environment
      • Strong aptitude for determining the optimal way to position products in the clinical market and understanding of the founding mechanism for translational research.
      • Proven ability to deliver outstanding and highly creative marketing achievements with limited budgets.
      • A proven, successful track record of increasing company revenue and awareness through well-executed marketing efforts.
      • Previous business strategy, business development, or strategic marketing experience related to genomics and clinical applications. Experience in strategic marketing, market development, strategy consulting or product management would be welcomed.
      • Proven experience in a strategic role working collaboratively and independently to drive results
      • Ability to influence across the organization at all levels, including previous experience in a highly matrixed organization would be preferred.
      • Willingness to travel up to 50%

      Preferred Educational Background:

      • Master’s Degree in Genetics, Molecular Biology, or another related science field; MBA, MD or Ph.D. is desirable
      • Fluency in English.
