Install, configure, and maintain Oracle databases across production, licensing, testing, and development environments.

Manage database instances, schemas, and associated components like tablespaces, indexes, and stored procedures.

Monitor database performance and tune SQL queries, server configurations, and application interfaces.

Proactively identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and system inefficiencies.
-
Design and implement robust backup and recovery strategies using tools like RMAN.
-
Conduct regular database backups and restoration tests to ensure data integrity and disaster recovery readiness.
-
Implement database security policies, including user management, role-based access control, and encryption.
-
Ensure compliance with organizational and industry standards (e.g., GDPR).

Diagnose and resolve database issues, including connectivity, storage, and performance-related problems.

Provide on-call support for critical database environments as needed (approximately one week per month)

Collaborate with development teams to design efficient database structures for new and existing applications.

Plan and execute database scaling strategies to support business growth.

Apply Oracle patches, upgrades, and hotfixes to ensure system stability and security.
-
Evaluate and test new database features and technologies for potential adoption.

Implement automated scripts for routine database tasks, such as health checks and performance reporting.

Use tools like Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) or custom scripts to monitor database health and availability.

Maintain comprehensive documentation, including database configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.

Generate periodic reports on database performance, usage, and incidents.

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
-
8+ years of experience as an Oracle Database Administrator.

In-depth knowledge of Oracle database versions (e.g. 19c, 21c).

Proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, and database management tools.

Hands-on experience with Oracle container/pluggable and Data Guard.
-
Expertise in backup and recovery using RMAN.
-
Strong understanding of database performance tuning and query optimization.
-
Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments and shell scripting.
-
Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) certification.
-
Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), Azure & AWS Cloud
-
Familiarity with DevOps practices, Kubernetes, and tools (e.g., Git, Ansible, Jenkins).

Familiarity with TIA product knowledge.

Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.

Sapiens is on the lookout for an experienced Oracle Database Administrator to manage, maintain, and optimize Oracle database environments. The ideal candidate will have extensive expertise in Oracle database architecture, performance tuning, backup and recovery, and troubleshooting. They will work closely with development, operations, and IT teams to ensure database reliability, security, and scalability to meet organizational needs.
