      Summary

      The MIL Corporation is looking for a part-time Senior Designer/Drafter (Engineering, Senior Associate) to perform communications systems design and drafting efforts associated with a Naval Air Warfare Division Weapons Division (NAWCWD) Military Construction (MILCON) project. The person filling this role will provide experience and leadership for the design of complex systems, and capture of design in engineering drawings and documentation.

      This position currently requires a remote schedule. Schedule is subject to change based on company/contract requirements.

      Responsibilities

      • Conduct system and subsystem engineering analysis and interface design for C5ISR equipment/systems and subsystems.
      • Develop and perform edits to 2-Dimensional drawings utilizing AutoCAD software.
      • Incorporate engineering requirements into 2-D engineering drawings and associated documents.
      • Lead development of installation and wiring diagrams such as Cable Block Diagrams.
      • Develop Cable Run Sheets and Wire Lists.
      • Draw floor plans, workstation elevations, and rack assemblies.
      • Develop parts lists associated with integration efforts and incorporate into the drawing package.
      • Analyze existing drawing package from the Military Construction builder and extract pertinent information to support drawings for integration of C5ISR equipment.
      • Review drawings from junior level drafters and provide feedback/redlines.

      Travel

      Up to 10% of the time, as needed.

      Required Qualifications

      • Fifteen (15) or more years of practical engineering experience in engineering, analysis, and developing drawing packages for equipment/systems and subsystems, at least five (5) years of experience must be performing engineering functions related to military C5ISR systems.
      • Strong proficiency with Autodesk CAD software and analysis tools
      • Knowledge of industry standards and best practices, knowledge of military standards preferred (ex. MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-901)
      • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, material selection, and design for manufacturability
      • Experience with systems engineering framework and reviews such as System Requirements Review, Preliminary Design Review, and Comprehensive Design Review.
      • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
      • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products

      Desired Qualifications

      • Experience with ISO-9001, AS9100, and configuration management processes, including ASME drafting standards.
      • Experience with design, development, installation, and maintenance of rack-mounted communications systems.
      • Current Top Secret or TS/SCI clearance

      Education

      Associate’s degree or higher in Engineering or Technical Discipline from an accredited college.

      Clearance

      All applicants for this position must possess a current Secret clearance; please note that the clearance process takes into account financial background aspects.

      Salary at MIL is determined based on factors such as qualifications, experience, and contractual limitations. For this position, the projected compensation range is the equivalent of $120,000 - $160,000 per year.
