- Demonstrated global line management experience
- Excellent leadership and influencing skills, especially without authority
- Extensive knowledge of clinical and pharmaceutical drug development process at various phases of development
- Extensive experience working collaboratively with external partners to enable delivery
- Demonstrated experience of directing alliance governance frameworks and processes (including performance metrics)
- Excellent networking and collaboration skills with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders (incl senior level stakeholders) across global and functional boundaries
- Holistic grasp of complex situations, see the full picture and understand impact of actions, and is confident in making decisions in such situations
- Ability to apply knowledge to solve problems that involve many decision makers, and develop multiple options/recommendations

The Alliance Management (AM) group sits within BioPharma Clinical Operations and is accountable for setting the sourcing strategy across R&D and managing suppliers to ensure that they deliver what the organisations need; and develop strong, beneficial partnerships with key suppliers delivering full service, functional and technology components of clinical studies.
The Alliance Management CRO Group Lead is responsible for leading a team of Alliance Management professionals whose responsibility is to manage key suppliers delivering both full service and functional components of clinical studies within defined delivery models / ways of working - ensuring the supplier(s) are meeting the needs of the business and are delivering to contract. The team will be responsible for providing visibility of supplier performance to AZ and ensuring that strong relationships with the suppliers are created and maintained.
The Alliance Management Group Lead will also act as the senior level point of contact for key strategic suppliers. They will drive innovation and future aligned development of key suppliers to ensure that we are maximising value for both parties - connecting the business needs with the suppliers’ offerings and ensuring sharing of key strategies.
As an expert in your field, you will ensure you and the team stay up to date with industry trends enabling R&D to make informed sourcing strategy decisions.
