      Senior Director Data Architecture

      Expedia Group is looking for Senior Director of Data Architecture to come and join us in our mission to revolutionize travel through the power of technology.       Senior Director Data Architecture will lead and Drive EG wide Data Architecture function to drive simplicity, efficiency and deliver business outcomes.An influential people leader who owns complex product strategy development and implementation across multiple portfolios and throughout Expedia Group, integrating seamlessly with the strategies of other business lines.

      What you’ll do:

      • Lead teams of senior architects and/or managers focused on the creation of end-to-end Data architecture solutions using modern data platforms and technologies.
      • Work with the Senior leadership across various divisions and product lines around data architecture priorities and set direction to enable business imperatives.
      • Understand strategic data needs of the business and translate into data system architecture and design. Partner with internal and external departments to improve processes, detail of data, and business applications.
      • Architect the Enterprise’s information stack and lead key data architecture decisions across the organization
      • Lead the design of architectural roadmaps, data models, data access and data technology architectures.
      • Develop, communicate, and ensure that data standards and patterns are being utilized across Enterprise. Establish metrics to measure compliance.
      • Establish a data architecture to support ML/AI and Information architecture
      • Identify opportunities to advance the organization through the data maturity model and coordinate with leadership to execute improvement strategies.
      • Serve as internal resource and subject matter expert to colleagues and a resource to others in the resolution of complex problems and issues connected to data used for reporting and analytics purposes.
      • Be a self-driven technical leader to provide data architectural guidance, data technological recommendations, and transition strategies for modernization, simplification, and transformation.
      • Possess a balance of management competencies, technical depth, and strong interpersonal skills.
      • Display strong thought leadership in pursuit of modern data architecture principles and technology modernization.
      • Drive continuous data transformation to minimize technical debt.
      • Define and lead technology proof of concepts to ensure feasibility of new data technology architecture solutions.
      • Define interim and target state data architecture roadmaps.
      • Ensure alignment of product and technology initiatives with the target state
      • Prepare and deliver comprehensive communications to convey data architectural direction and how it aligns with enterprise strategy.
      • Optimizes talent strategy to ensure proper mix of resources and attracts and recruits best talent.

      Who you are:

      • Bachelors’ in Computer Science or equivalent. Masters preferred.
      • 7+ years of Data Architecture experience and leading teams
      • Organizational and transformational Leadership Experience in an agile operating model
      • Help define strategic data architecture vision for the organization.
      • Proven track record of Influencing senior leadership.
      • Strong grasp of value creation and business capability models
      • Innovation and Continuous Improvement
      • Current experience with AWS, APIs, accelerators, DevSecOps
      • Good understanding of data privacy and security
      • Experience modernizing data technology and information architecture on Cloud
      • Exposure and understanding of advanced analytics techniques using ML and AI
      • Hands on experience with data technologies on cloud
      • Experience working in matrixed organizations and complex data ecosystem to influence non-direct reports and incorporate data management practices into platform solutions/offering
      • Strong communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical issues simply and convincingly to help drive fast decisions.
      • Think creatively and force simplicity while solving interesting data related problems and opportunities in a fast-paced environment
      • Embrace challenges, persist, and learn through support and feedback

      The total cash range for this position in USA is $277,000 to $387,000. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $443,000, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.

      Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
