Insulet’s Global Technology Operations team is seeking a Senior Director, Site Reliability Engineering to staff and lead a team of experienced SRE’s that are responsible for deploying, monitoring, troubleshooting and develop tooling for Insulet Cloud solutions. This position requires a mix of strategic engineering and design along with hands-on, technical work. Your team will configure, tune, and tackle multi-tiered systems to achieve optimal application performance, stability, and availability. You will work closely with systems engineers, development and operations teams, and information security teams. Our Cloud systems enhance our ability to provide advanced solutions for people living with Diabetes. JOB / DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

• Define and verify standards for configuration, monitoring, reliability, and performance
• Supervise a team of SREs, ensuring that production applications your team supports are stable, reliable, and well-documented
• Continually drive down time-to-detect and time-to-resolve through improved outlier detection and real time root cause analysis
• Drive operational best practice adoption across critical services, continually looking to lower operational barriers to achieving improved reliability
• Drive organizational awareness of the importance of availability, applying a creative lens to the many facets of availability
• Demonstrates technical leadership and mentoring on the application of new technologies and systems management methodologies
• Develop and maintain a catalog of reliability scripts, tools and libraries that can be leveraged for common instrumentation, automation, and operational needs to identify and remediate network events
• Develop and maintain an effective working relationship with various levels of the organization, including business partners, management, and associates.
• Work closely with engineering managers, technical leads, architects, and development teams to ensure that platforms are designed with scale and operability in mind
• Develop a high performing team, recruiting as required, and guiding team members through performance management and personal career development.

Skills/Experience:

• BS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
• 15+ years of experience in the field including 5+ years of experience in DevOps/SRE, systems engineering, build/release/deployment automation, etc.
• Experience with development software tooling to deliver programmable infrastructure & environments and building CI/CD pipeline with tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, and Kubernetes toolset (e.g, kubectl, kustomize).
• Operational experience of AWS and/or Azure through migrations, scaling operations etc.
• In-Depth knowledge of AWS services including VPC, Lambda, IAM, ELB, EC2, ECS, CloudWatch, API Gateway, S3, SQS, SNS, WAF, X-Ray, and Route53.
• Deep understanding of Azure services and experience using Data Factories, SQL Databases, Virtual Machines, Functions, App Services, Application Gateway, WAF, Blob Storage, and API Management.
• Work closely with engineering managers, technical leads, architects, and development teams to ensure that platforms are designed with scale and operability in mind
• Troubleshoot and debug complex issues in production applications
• Communicate effectively with people at all levels of the organization
• Experience with software development life cycle (SDLC) and agile/iterative methodologies
• Experience with monitoring solutions, such as: AWS CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, New Relic, Datadog, Nagios, Zabbix, PagerDuty, etc.
• Solid understanding of cloud architectures (compute, storage, databases) and networks (TCP/IP, VPN, HTTP, SSL, routing, etc.)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to clearly explain complex business and technical topics to both technical and non-technical resources

Additional Information:

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $194,980.00 - $282,722.50. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position in the primary work location in the US. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
