- Req#: R_297894
- Edit US and global legal technical/analytical articles (GRISTs), legislative and regulatory updates, news briefs, blog posts and PowerPoint presentations
- Submit L&P-created intellectual capital for posting on the company’s internal- and external-facing platforms and working with web teams to ensure content is accurate.
- Assemble and email weekly roundups of the latest posted content
- Write pithy single-paragraph or single-page highlights of longer pieces
- Locate legal source materials on government and other websites
- A Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Journalism or related field
- A minimum of 5 years of legal editing experience
- Expert knowledge of English grammar and usage
- Superior editing and writing skills
- Experience/familiarity with issues related to health and fringe benefits and retirement issues
- Mastery of MS Word and PowerPoint formatting, Outlook, and basic understanding of HTML/web-tagging principles
- Mastery of AP style and familiarity with Bluebook style, coupled with the flexibility to apply product-specific exceptions to those style rules
- Paralegal or law degree a plus
- Strong analytical and logical reasoning skills
- Organized, accurate and detail-oriented
- Ability to work rapidly and effectively under pressure and with minimal supervision
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and prioritize a varied workload in a fast-paced, unpredictable, and demanding environment
- Ability to explain editorial changes to authors and discuss appropriate compromises as needed
- Honest, direct and comfortable giving and receiving constructive feedback during the writing process
- Ability to adapt to various writers’ styles while maintaining consistency among product types
