      Senior Editorial Operations Associate

      About the Role

      You will oversee critical cross-publication processes or initiatives, including coordinating acceptance technical checks. You will be in regular contact with publishing operations, editorial, and marketing stakeholders, using high-level systems expertise to devise solutions and enable business goals to be met. You will develop comprehensive written resources and protocols related to your areas of expertise.

      Responsibilities

      • Completing detailed technical checks with a high degree of accuracy. You will ensure that all submitted materials are in compliance with journal requirements

      • Participating in a collaborative pre-acceptance process to ensure a consistent author experience and rapid turnaround times across all journals

      • Engaging directly with authors and suppliers to ensure that all scientific materials are available and ready for editorial consideration and timely delivery to production

      • Managing communications for designated journal or set of journals, applying Cell Press principles of hospitality and transparency in all interactions

      • Providing a high level of technical support to scientific editors, authors and editorial referees through all stages of the process

      • Establishing and upholding journal workflows and deadlines, document journal policies and protocols. Managing journal resources, including comprehensive letter inventories and detailed instructions for authors and reviewers

      • Leveraging knowledge gained from close interactions with authors, reviewers, and editors to develop and implement new ideas


      Requirements

      • Have previous experience in a similar operational role/industry

      • Have previous exposure or experience in managing projects

      • Be interested to learn and develop a deep understanding of technical publishing processes and policies

      • Be passionate about delivering great service to stakeholders and clients as part of a collaborative team

      • Be able to work comfortably with Microsoft Office software, specifically Excel and Outlook

      • Have fantastic administrative, organization, and attention to detail skills, in addition to proven verbal communication skills and a customer focus
