- Partner with Operations leadership and staff to support implementation of their EHS responsibilities, including operating within permit and regulatory parameters, replicating company best practices, reporting incidents and near misses, leading incident investigations, and identifying pragmatic solutions that address compliance and reduce risk.
- Manage environmental compliance and permitting, including assessing regulatory obligations, securing permits, conducting select compliance tasks, and ensuring effective and timely closure of legal requirements – air, wastewater, stormwater, solid & hazardous waste, tanks, used oil, and spill prevention and control.
- Lead (e.g. EPCRA Tier I/II & TRI, waste disposal) and/or support (e.g. OSHA injury & illness) preparation and submittal of agency reports – data collection, calculations, records management, and governance review.
- Conduct risk assessments on production equipment and operational processes to identify existing critical controls, priority improvements needed, and specific actions to mitigate the risks.
- Drive continuous improvement in company-wide EHS business processes and tools, such as management of change, emergency procedures, and rigorous incident investigation root cause analysis and identification of corrective actions.
- Conduct EHS compliance inspections, assessments, and audits; and recommend specific corrective and preventative measures, including what objective evidence is needed to confirm closure.
- Prepare and deliver training to support EHS compliance (e.g. RCRA, OSHA) and effective implementation of company programs and practices. Evaluate training effectiveness.
- Support EHS data management, including analyzing EHS metrics for trends, associations, and insights to drive performance improvements and influence strategic planning.
- Coordinate legacy environmental issues at current sites and assess risks at potential acquisition sites.
- Lead ISO14001 implementation and ISO internal audit team for Quality Management System.
- Lead select EHS-wide and/or safety & health program areas, aligned to current expertise and company priorities.
- Bachelor’s degree in related field required.
- 5+ years of experience in the design and administration of environmental programs in a manufacturing environment.
- Subject matter expert with working knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to manage compliance requirements during times of operational change, including new equipment and changes to existing equipment, raw materials, or wastes.
- Ability to set your own work priorities, work independently, and meet time-sensitive deadlines.
- Detailed problem-solving skills and ability to develop innovative solutions to challenges.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate clearly and reliably to executives, operations staff, and regulatory authorities.
- Travel potential 5-10%.
- Professional certification, such as Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM), Qualified Environmental Professional (QEP), or Certified Safety Professional (CSP).
- Master’s degree in an environmental, health or safety related field.
- Experience with design and administration of safety and/or ergonomic programs, including working knowledge of Federal, State, and Local safety regulations and industry standards.
- Experience specifying and/or using software tools or systems to implement EHS programs, dashboards, document management, and/or action item tracking; including in-house tools, Microsoft Office Suite, and/or 3rd party systems.
- Experience working with environmental or quality management systems (ISO14001, ISO9001), 5S and/or Kaizen methodologies.
- Experience working in a multi-geographical environment.

Provide environment, health & safety (EHS) expertise to enable and ensure Graco manufacturing, warehouse, and engineering design facilities comply with applicable EHS regulations and deploy best practices to reduce risk and prevent incidents. Focus on leadership, management, and implementation of environmental compliance. Provide program leadership of select company-wide EHS business processes and/or safety & health initiatives. Collaborate with Operations to drive continuous improvements in EHS culture and accountability. Reports to Global EHS Leader, with primary support to US-based operations, and secondary support to international operations. Position based at Graco location in Minneapolis-St. Paul metropolitan area in Minnesota.

The base pay range for this position is listed below, exclusive of fringe benefits or other compensation. If you are hired, your final base hourly rate will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, competencies, education, and/or experience. In addition to those factors, we will also consider internal equity of our current employees. Please keep in mind that the range provided is the full base salary range for the role. Hiring at or near the maximum of the range would not be typical to allow for future and continued salary growth.
