      Contractor Liaison and Permit Issuer

      The primary responsibility of the Contractor liaison and Permit issuer is to support the site by:

      • Responsible for contractor inductions to site, including assessing hazards and risks associated with contractor work and issuing appropriate permits-to-work
      • Supporting the maintenance team in planning and performing tasks such as confined space entry.
      • Providing input and assistance with executing capital projects
      • Ensuring all GMP, corporate and legislative compliance requirements are met
      • Working closely with customers to organise own daily tasks and support production schedules

      Of critical importance to the successful execution of this role is the ability to apply strong technical knowledge of NZ safety standards. It is also essential to be able to work collaboratively with other functions to support site priorities.

      The Contractor liaison and Permit issuer sits within the Maintenance organization and reports to the Maintenance Manager

      What You Will Do

      Responsibilities include, however not limited to:

      Permitting

      • Ensure the participation in the permit to work is conducted in accordance with the permit’s, and our company and Worksafe NZ’s policies
      • Review / issue necessary permits required for the intended works
      • Carry out assigned pre and post inspections/task observations for permit work
      • Ensure work is completed to a satisfactory state prior to closing off permits
      • Ensure hazards are identified within the department
      • Carry out Monthly Audits and KPI reporting of permits and records
      • Maintain engineering staff and Contractor’s training and records
      • Administer and operate our company’s staff and contractor management systems including but not limited to Totara and ePass.
      • Carryout Contractor and visitor inductions
      • Update site procedures related to contractors and permitting as required

      What You Must have

      • Experience with GMP/GLP or ISO 9000 in a production environment would be advantageous
      • Must have working knowledge of New Zealand safety standards, requirements and legislation.
      • Should have experience working with Contractors and or Contracting environment (industrial preferred).
      • Proficient written and verbal communication skills
      • Report and investigation writing skills.
      • Computer Skills: Microsoft products
      • Project management experience on medium to large sized projects would be advantageous, although not required.
