Job Description
- Req#: R68275
- Leading and enhancing the Fast Track (FT) team, improving processes and mentoring new editors.
- Screening and distributing incoming FT papers, ensuring effective organization within the team.
- Conducting external outreach and trialling acquisition specifically for FT papers.
- Engaging in general peer review, evaluating and presenting allocated papers to the editorial team.
- Participating in critical assessments of other editors' papers across The Lancet family.
- Negotiating revisions with authors to meet the highest standards of medical and scientific reporting.
- Commissioning Seminars and Reviews in collaboration with the commissioning team.
- Leading, shaping, and commissioning Global Health Series and Commissions, fostering relationships for wide dissemination.
- Be educated to PhD or MD level with substantial research experience
- Have experience in a variety of health settings, both globally and by institution
- Have previous editorial experience in a leading general medical journal
- Be able to participate in team decisions and planning.
- Have excellent organizational and planning abilities for meeting deadlines and continuous process improvement.
- Be able to communicate with authors, reviewers, commissioners, and high-level international leaders in health, leveraging broad clinical, scientific, and health policy knowledge.
- Be capable of providing effective coaching and mentoring to editorial colleagues.
- Have a demonstrated passion for research, science, healthcare, and global health, coupled with a purposeful and results-oriented approach.
