      Position Summary

      Edrington’s Cask Strategy plays a critical role in delivering exceptional quality liquid for our ultra-premium brands. It is a key expenditure area in the business and given further investments in Grupo Estévez, Vasyma and Coopers Oak it provides an exciting new opportunity for a Senior Finance Manager to join and play a key role in delivering transformational change. The Senior Finance Manager will be based in 100 Queen Street with regular travel to Spain and the USA required and reports directly to the Head of Cask Strategy & Partner Brands. The Senior Finance Manager will lead the development of both financial and operational elements of the Group’s cask manufacture and seasoning models, and be accountable for ongoing monitoring, challenge and reporting of this critical and key spend area. The role will be responsible for leading a number of workstreams across key cask strategy projects, managing teams and monitoring progress across a number of disciplines to ensure successful delivery.

      Job Description

      Key responsibilities include:

      • Participate as a member of the management team within Cask Strategy, leading direct and indirect teams to execute ambitious change plans.
      • Lead the development of both financial and operational elements of the Group’s cask manufacture and seasoning models, and be accountable for ongoing monitoring, challenge and reporting of this critical and key spend area.
      • Play a leading role on the cask supply annual budget process. Ensure inputs provided in a timely manner from a range of teams and provide challenge and rigour. Prepare insightful budget presentations, summarising the key messages and clear links to overall cask strategy.
      • Demonstrate leadership capability by providing direction and reassurance to internal and partner teams through periods of change and evolution. Support integration phases on the new acquisitions by working closely with the teams to understand current business as usual and identify and implement opportunities for improvements.
      • Adopt a lead role on the project to deliver the optimal entity structure in Spain. Manage a number of workstreams and provide challenge across a variety of functional areas to ensure the overall objectives and benefits are realised.
      • This role currently has one direct report, the Cask Strategy Analyst. The focus will be to ensure that the cask supply development programme roadmap is regularly reviewed, challenged, and effectively communicated.

      Skills and Experience

      To take on the challenge of this role you will possess a professional accountancy qualification with previous leadership experience commensurate to this level of role. You will have a proven track record of managing teams and delivering against long term strategic objectives. You will have the gravitas and confidence to communicate effectively at all levels with the ability to influence across financial and non-financial areas. A good working knowledge of MS Office and SAP is required, previous experience of Planning Analytics software would be advantageous. Spanish language skills are desirable but not essential.
