      This role is within the Segments Controllership Organization supporting an insurance legal entity, AMEX Assurance Company (AAC). AAC is primarily a property and casualty travel-related insurance company that underwrites fee-based insurance and no additional charge insurance products for US Card Members. The Senior Financial Analyst will provide financial decision support and thought leadership.

      The Senior Financial Analyst will contribute to the end-to-end financial and statutory accounting and reporting, as well as statutory filings to the state/municipalities and the National Association of Insurance Commissioners. This individual will work closely with the key business partners in the AAC business and Card Services to provide business support and advisory.

      Primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

      • Prepare monthly accounting journal entries
      • Develop monthly P&L and Balance Sheet reporting
      • Complete annual and quarterly statutory reporting and filings
      • Compile and submit premium tax calculations and filings
      • Perform SOX and Operational Risk testing and compliance
      • Support internal and external audits

      Minimum Qualifications

      • Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
      • Knowledge of the insurance industry preferred
      • Demonstrated commitment to quality and accuracy
      • Proven demonstration of personal excellence
      • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
      • Works well in a changing environment and with tight deadlines

      Employment eligibility to work with American Express in the U.S. is required as the company will not pursue visa sponsorship for these positions.

      Salary Range: $55,000.00 to $105,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits
