      The Senior Foundation Program Specialis t engages in activities that support and promote the goals, mission, and strategic direction of the Independence Blue Cross Foundation (IBX Foundation), a nationally recognized corporate foundation and health funder in southeastern Pennsylvania. By the end of 2023, the IBX Foundation will have awarded grants totaling more than $80 million to nonprofits and for research to impact the health of communities in southeastern Pennsylvania. The Foundation focuses its efforts on improving access to primary care and behavioral health services in underserved communities, increasing educational opportunities in health professions, overcoming the stigma of addiction, supporting inclusive treatment and recovery for individuals with substance use disorder, and achieving greater health equity for all.

      DUTIES:

      Reporting to the Executive Director, the Senior Foundation Program Specialist will:

      • Lead the preparation and presentation of information and materials for governance meetings, executive and leadership communication, and speaking opportunities.
      • Support and lead multiple special projects with internal and external stakeholder engagement.
      • Play a key role in strategic planning and implementation.
      • Collaborate across the organization to meet goals and deliverables of the organization.
      • Bring new ideas and approaches to drive the mission of the organization for greater social impact.
      • May represent the organization at internal and external meetings and events.

      QUALIFICATIONS:

      • Requires a college degree or equivalent work experience that provides knowledge of and exposure to healthcare, health policy, nonprofit grantmaking and corporate philanthropy.
      • 5+ years of relevant experience.
      • Demonstrated experience communicating and presenting to senior leadership.
      • Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills and ability to develop, maintain, and manage relationships with internal and external partners and stakeholders.
      • Skilled in Microsoft Office products and collaborating on shared documents and presentations.
      • Independence has implemented a “Hybrid" model which requires Public Affairs associates to work in the office on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday and remotely on Wednesday and Friday. However, management may require our associates to work from Independence’s physical office locations on certain occasions. While associates may work remotely, the work must be performed in the Tri-State Area of Delaware, New Jersey or Pennsylvania.
