Role Description
Basepaws , a pet genetics company which was recently acquired by Zoetis, empowers pet parents and healthcare teams to deliver personalized pet care like never before.
Basepaws is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Technology team. This is a US-based role only.As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be essential in developing and maintaining the internal and external Basepaws web applications. This highly dynamic position will work with other software engineers, the product team, and, on occasion, other members of the Basepaws organization.
A collaborative work ethic and easy-going nature are a must and extensive experience in similar roles as part of a D2C startup environment is a big plus.
Responsibilities
● Work with the rest of the Engineering team to build the products and features that have been planned in an agile process
● Ensure the code’s reliability, uptime, security, and speed as needed
● Work in an agile development process working in multi-week sprints with a healthy and effective prioritization process, ensuring proper development resource allocation
● Write and execute well-formed integration, functional, and smoke tests that have a broad coverage of code
● Fully document all work
Collaborate with the Scientific and Data teams on building their Laboratory Inventory Management System (LIMS)
Work with the Product team to understand product requirements, get and give feedback on user interface designs, and help write technical requirements
Be the primary software engineering resource for the Veterinary team and its products
Work with the other front-end software engineers on the Engineering team to create, update, and modify new and existing products and features within the Consumer and Admin portals.
Participate in team- and company-wide Show & Tells, Lunch & Learns, and Hack-a-thons
Educational background:
● 6+ years of experience with designing, developing, testing, and maintaining enterprise B2B and B2C applications
● 4+ years of experience with React and ReactQuery
● 4+ years of experience with Typescript or Javascript (TS is strongly preferred)
● 2+ years in an agile environment
● Experience with consuming REST APIs
● D2C experience is a plus
● Have a good understanding of how to build user interfaces from Figma
● Excellent collaborative and communication skills
● Independent and able to take ownership of features/projects

other factors.Base Pay Range: $90,000 - $125,000
