      Senior Global Accountant

      Angel Court, London

      Hybrid working options

      Permanent

      Full time 35 hours per week

      Salary - £70,000 - £80,000 DOE & Annual Bonus

      As our Senior Global Accountant you’ll be delivering high quality financial support for the financial control and reporting for our Group. This is a great role for a qualified accountant that seeks management experience and exposure to working with the C-Suite.

      It’s a broad role that combines business partnering with budgeting, planning and reporting. Here you’ll also have the opportunity to support our global investing fund.

      What you’ll do:

      Present and challenge to Exec level stakeholders on functions current forecast position, risks and opportunities. Help drive forward thinking and early identification of issues and information to support decisions including resource allocation and project business cases.

      Manage relationships from CEC members to associated cost centre managers and team support staff. Report on monthly results, ensuring accurate year-to-date results (including accruals and prepayments etc.), forecast end of year performance and submissions into the annual business planning cycle are complete.

      Build relationships with Market Unit Finance teams to support understanding of Group Functions Finance deliverables including but not limited to, service fee recharges, allocation of overhead charges and intercompany settlements.

      Proactively provide and suggest scenario analysis and insightful reporting on the Group Functions cost base including resourcing and organisation analytics. Deliver analysis to Managers of Group Functions Finance Team to aid decision making and budget planning within Group functions.

      Global Investment Fund

      Collaborate with both Oversight Specialists and Market Units to ensure adequate tracking of both financial spend and project benefits associated with the Global Investment Fund – a fund that supports worldwide projects aligned to the Group’s Environmental, Social and Growth strategy and objectives.

      Financial and Management Reporting

      Support the team in delivery of the financial and management reporting deliverables of the Group Functions Finance team, including but not limited to:

      • Prepare quarterly, half year and full year reporting submissions for sign off to Group Reporting Team

      • Performing local financial close controls including balance sheet and system reconciliations

      • Manage intercompany process including recharges, prepare quarterly VAT returns and coordinate dividend process at half year & year end

      • Review reconciliations and other outputs produced by junior members of the team

      • Manage half year and year end audit queries with external auditors

      • Coordinate with other finance teams including representing Group Functions Finance Team in Group Finance wide planning and reporting meetings

      • Coach and support the development of junior team members

      What you’ll bring:

      The jobholder will be able to demonstrate:

      Essential

      • +2/3 Years PQE (ACCA, ACA, CIMA)

      • Good relationship building, presentation and communication skills to establish good rapport with non-financial oriented individuals and other Bupa finance teams.

      • Ability to work effectively under pressure, managing conflicting tasks/requests and meet strict deadlines

      • Experience of monthly and statutory financial reporting and understanding of IFRS financial standards

      • Experience in implementing strong financial controls and improving the efficiency of standard monthly/quarterly processes

      • Proactive and curious attitude, with strong resolution focus

      • Analytical approach; focussed and driven by digging deep and understanding the detail

      • Good excel skills

      • A partnering approach, possessing the qualities to build foundations of solid relationships with stakeholders and team members.

      Preferred

      • Experience of planning, management reporting and analytical review for Head office functions

      • Exposure to non-financial stakeholders and Executive level stakeholders

      • Knowledge of Oracle EPBS, Peoplesoft Financials and Tagetik preferred or similar GL system and planning tools.
