      Job summary

      Health Care Assistant

      We currently have a vacancy for a Senior Health Care Assistant in our Childrens Outpatient Unit.

      We are looking to appoint a Health Care Assistant to be a part of a dynamic and supportive multi-disciplinary team and who meets the requirements of the person specification. There will be opportunities to expand your knowledge and skill set .

      You will need to be flexible, motivated and committed to patient-centred care in the outpatient setting.

      The rostering pattern with be dependent on the needs of the department and the requirements of the trust (shift times are either 08:30-13:30 or 08:30-17:30 Mon- Fri )

      Main duties of the job

With the patient at the centre of all you do, you will require good communication skills, be assertive and provide a high standard of care with the support of the registered nurses.

      Qualifications

      Essential

      • Evidence of secondary education
      • Numeracy and literacy level 1 or equivalent

      Desirable

      • Basic life support

      Knowledge/Experiance

      Essential

      • Experience of working with the general public in retail or public services.
      • Willingness to use or learn to use a computer.
      • Basic knowledge of NHS legislation to include COSHH/Health and Safety/Infection Control/Clinical Waste Management/Manual Handling/Confidentiality and the Data Protection Act.
      • Understanding of SafeGuarding issues
      • Basic Life Support Skills for Children and Adults

      • Previous experience of working with children
      • Basic keyboard skills
