      Department Overview

      The HR Employee Relations team supports the organization by serving as the initial point of advice, problem resolution (including, e.g., workplace concerns and/or investigations), and facilitation in the areas of employee relations, performance management, and employee discipline; provides interpretation of related policies, procedures and practices. The team identifies, responds, and analyzes specific employee relations concerns and makes recommendations to management.

      Position Summary

      As a Senior HR Consultant, you will play a critical role within our HR team. You will be part of a team of skilled professionals responsible for advising leadership, monitoring and addressing performance management, employee discipline, and employee relations (including, e.g., employee concerns and/or workplace investigations). In addition, you will provide interpretation of policies and employment law, and will also serve as an employee advocate. This role will act as a liaison between departments/divisions that impact the employee employment experience including Recruiting, Worker’s Compensation, Leave of Absences, Leadership Development, Diversity and Inclusion, Ethics and Compliance, Labor Relations, Payroll, and Compensation. The Sr. HR Consultant also works closely with other HR and Company stakeholders in order to address, support and/or provide guidance regarding addressing misconduct, this can include conducting workplace investigations and/or supporting leaders with conducting workplace investigations. The strongest candidates will possess a broad foundation in HR with a specialty in Employee Relations, including workplace investigations. Candidates will have strong Interpersonal communication skills (oral and written).

      The position is a hybrid role working from your remote office and periodically working from PG&E offices as determined by leadership and/or as business needs require. The assigned headquarter location may be in Sacramento, Concord, Oakland, or Fresno depending on the successful candidate’s residence.

      PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.

      A reasonable salary range is:

      Bay Area Minimum: $95,000

      Bay Area Maximum: $143,000

      -Or-

      California Minimum: $90,000

      California Maximum: $136,000

      Job Responsibilities

      • Advise leaders on how to deliver performance feedback. Work with managers, supervisors to develop, deliver performance action plans.
      • Manage complex employee relations issues, working independently and exercising judgment based on significant employee relations experience and knowledge. Consults with legal department as required.
      • Tracking employee relation cases through a case management tool.
      • Deliver Employee Relations training to leaders and employees to identify opportunities to reduce ER risk.
      • Partner with other HR professionals, legal and business experts to address unique situations and business needs.
      • Adjusts easily to changing business needs, conditions, and work responsibilities; adapts approach, goals and methods to achieve successful solutions and results.
      • Effectively influences others to achieve understanding, acceptance, and commitment to act in support of ideas, programs or causes.
      • Demonstrates ability to manage employer and employee relations throughout the employment cycle.
      • Deals with interpersonally challenging situations calmly and diplomatically, diffusing tension; facilitates communication and resolves problems

      Qualifications

      Minimum:

      • High School Diploma
      • 6 years of progressive relevant experience

      Desired:

      • PHR or SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential
      • Bachelor's degree
      • Previous experience as an HR Generalist with responsibilities ranging from employee relations, including conducting workplace investigations, identifying trends, employee development and leadership coaching and training
      • Solid knowledge of applicable state and federal employment and labor laws and governmental compliance requirements
      • Strong communication and consultation skills
      • Strong Relationship development and management skills
