Job Description:
Position: Senior HR Manager
Location: Omagh
Reporting to: HR Director for Omagh, Campsie, Cookstown & Coalville
Job Purpose:
Terex is a fast-moving engineering company who are seeking to recruit a Senior HR Manager, someone ready for their next career challenge. In this newly appointed role, you will report to the HR Director and have day to day autonomy and accountability in relation to the Omagh business which is heavily focussed on operations. You will be a seasoned HR professional, commercially astute, and interacting on a regular basis with various key internal stakeholders at all levels.
The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, conscientious, and have an ability to work on their own initiative to deliver professional HR solutions for our business needs. You will take day to day responsibility for some client groups covering HR generalist duties as well as leading a small HR team to ensure the overall HR service adds value to the business.
What you will be doing?
With an overall HR Generalist remit at Omagh, this is very much a hands on role where you will partner with stakeholders across the organisation, as well as manage a team to bring new ideas and promote the business to its full potential. You will advise and support managers in your client groups and support the team in all day to day operational HR matters, acting as a true business partner. You will also be responsible for the achievement of key HR metrics and operational metrics and budgetary control within the department and you will be involved in HR initiatives that drive the people agenda to achieve business results whilst driving a positive company culture at all times.
Responsibilities will include;
• Provide advice and guidance across a range of HR responsibilities such as performance management, employee relations, absence management, policy development, learning & development, succession planning and disciplinaries.
• Provide high-quality HR leadership & insight, offering professional HR customer focused advice and support to managers, supervisors and team members in line with Terex policies, procedures and legal requirements.
• Identify development needs within the business, manage development plans for all levels of staff, as well as sourcing, coordinating and evaluating learning and development activities.
• Build and maintain robust relationships with key stakeholders across our operational business to create a collaborative approach to people related initiatives.
• Support the team in the recruitment life cycle to ensure we acquire the best and brightest talent.
• Support Team Member engagement initiatives and the promotion of health and wellbeing.
• Manage client groups on a daily basis.
• Manage the development and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives and instill HR practices/processes which add value.
• Ensure the team deliver accurate payroll administration for weekly paid team members
• Ensure HR kpi’s are closely monitored against targets and take action when necessary to address any issues/problems
• Manage spend within the HR budget and review on a regular basis.
• Manage compliance to SOX controls and all other aspects of employment legislation and statutory returns.
• Generate HR reports & statistics to assist with operational management and decisions for the business.
• Support and deputise for the HR Director in any other duties which may arise from time to time.
Education/Qualifications/Skills:
•Ideally educated to degree level in HR or Business related discipline.
•Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) or relevant professional qualification.
• Well organised with ability to work on own initiative and with limited supervision.
• Flexible and adaptable to changing business needs, and the ability to prioritise the workload and complete in a timely manner.
•Excellent working knowledge of UK employment legislation and the ability and experience to apply it practically within a manufacturing environment.
• Commercially aware, with the ability to drive culture agenda effectively
• Preferrable Experience within the engineering or manufacturing sector
• Strong leadership skills , able to deliver and shape a vision and build on relationships with key stakeholders based on collaboration.
• Proven influencer, significant experience generating buy in from supervisors and managers.
