- Leads brain-storming and fact finding sessions at the site level and researches proven external solutions to similar site issues
- Implements lessons learned and best practices from other sites and external parties at the site level
- Influences and motivates change in operational behavior and processes at a site level
- Makes observations, reports and root cause analysis to Chief Innovation Engineer regarding continuous improvement opportunities on assigned sites
- Perform other duties as required
- Bachelor's degree in an appropriate Engineering discipline and five (5) years related experience in engineering or related field, OR
- Master's degree in an appropriate Engineering discipline and three (3) years related experience in engineering or related field.
- Strength in probability, statistical analysis and reliability engineering
- Analytical Sophistication - report and KPI creation, new analysis development, ad-hoc analysis using conventional and big-data methods applied to new data shapes
- Strength with software tools (SAP, Business Objects, R, Python, SQL and Excel in a big data environment, etc.)
- Knowledge of the processes, costs, schedules, constraints and deliverables of assigned sites to improve safety, process efficiencies, production rates, cost controls and protection of the environment
- Knowledge of the equipment and associated SOPs at a site level
- Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
- Strength in conduction Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and/or Failure Modes & Effects Analysis (FMEA)
- Strong industry knowledge of mining and processing, familiarity with mining terminology and credibility with the field
- Strong experience developing and delivering training and document writing
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, including mentoring junior engineers
- Master's degree in a related engineering discipline
- Six Sigma experience or certification
- Persuasive speaking skills
- Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures given in English
- Ability to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standards
- Must be able to work in a potentially stressful environment
- Occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy objects up to thirty (30) pounds during the course of the workday
- Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, manufacturing or plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required
- Freeport-McMoRan promotes a drug/alcohol free work environment through the use of mandatory pre-employment drug testing and on-going random drug testing as per applicable State laws
- Site-based positions, or positions which require unescorted access to site-based operational areas, which are held by employees who are required to receive MSHA, OSHA, DOT, HAZWOPER and/or Hazard Recognition Training; or
- Positions which are held by employees who operate equipment, machinery or motor vehicles in furtherance of performing the essential functions of their job duties, including operating motor vehicles while on Company business or travel (for this purpose “motor vehicles” includes Company owned or leased motor vehicles and personal motor vehicles used by employees in furtherance of Company business or while on Company travel).

Please note: This position has the possibility to work remotely up to 100% of the time. The position will require occasional travel to the Phoenix corporate offices and/or site locations . This position may be performed anywhere in the U.S. except California, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Michigan, Illinois, Kentucky and New York. Additional states may be excluded from remote work based on business factors. Should the positions shift to in-office work in the future, the company will offer relocation benefits at that time should the position meet the established eligibility for these benefits.
Description
Under general supervision, provides tracking and monitoring of the reliability and production of the plant or fleet. Provides technical advice and guidance for execution of methods, engineering solutions, tactics and strategies for enhancing the overall reliability and production of the plant or fleet.Qualifications

Compensation:
The estimated annual pay range for this role is currently $94,000-$132,000. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance. More details will be shared during the hiring process.
