- Design assessment of systems and components in the field of underwater technology
- Plan approval and inspection of manned and unmanned underwater vehicles, underwater technology systems and components
- Close cooperation with international customers

- Engineering degree (Bachelor or Master) preferably within mechatronics or mechanical/structural engineering with minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience
- Preferably experience within design/ fabrication/ testing of pressure and underwater technology equipment
- Experience with technical rules and regulations for pressure equipment
- Background in project management
- Strong commercial mindset
- Ability to handle several projects in parallel
- Willingness to perform business trips to support our clients as well as our worldwide organization
- Good communication skills, verbally and in writing. Company language is English.
- The possibility for a higher security clearance is preferable.

Local Unit & Position Description
The Approval Centre Europe (M-SA) within Maritime Ship Classification consists of six production departments, located across three different locations (Gdynia, Hamburg and Oslo (Høvik)). The main delivery from the Approval organization is approval, verification and certification services for different maritime related assets in accordance with our rules and international standards.

DNV's Section for Underwater Technology, based in Hamburg, Germany, is seeking a skillful, curious, and agile engineer. You will be part of our team of 11 highly qualified engineers, who are responsible for design approval and inspection of various types of underwater systems based on DNV classification rules as well as international/national regulations and standards. DNV’s section for Underwater Technology is responsible for the classification and certification of manned and unmanned submersibles, naval submarines, underwater habitats, hyperbaric pressure chamber systems and equipment for underwater application.
