What this job involves

The ideal candidate should have a demonstrated background in interior design and possess excellent leadership qualities to oversee the firm's day-to-day operations. JLL Design Solutions is building a design-led studio network across India and the ideal candidate will bring equal measures of creativity, design thinking and operational sensibility, ensuring that all design projects are delivered on programme and within budget while maintaining the high-quality standards set by the company. You will be expected to provide leadership for the collective success and development of the Design Solutions business in India. Your experience will be instrumental in building the practice; by promoting design excellence through a holistic and collaborative approach to design; while managing the day-to-day operational requirements of the studio.

Working with us, you will:

• Oversee the entire customer journey from potential client to a happy customer with a focus on operations including design management, client communication and team leadership.
• Work closely with the Country Design Head and the Design Director to ensure that revenue and project performance targets are achieved, and studio requirements are met.
• Provide leadership on business operations as the Studio Head, while actively contributing through all phases of project delivery.
• Lead a team of designers, documenters, visualisers, design coordinators and support staff to deliver high-quality design work.
• Contribute to the development of company standards, processes, and best practices.
• Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the firm's operations.
• Participate in business development activities, including client presentations, proposal writing, and relationship-building.
• Work closely with Business Development, Marketing, and associated business lines to effectively market the Design Solutions business and services.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as the main point of contact to create a recurring path of work.
• Oversee the quality of project deliverables to ensure that they meet or exceed client expectations.
• Lead and coordinate communication efforts within the assigned studio and between other Studio Heads within India and across the region.
• Contribute to the development of workplace design strategies and trends, positioning the company as a thought leader within the design industry.
• Participation in industry forums, and presentations at regional and national conferences.
• Be actively involved in community activities that support the goals and objectives of JLL.

Interested? An ideal candidate would need to have the following qualifications

Desired experience and technical skills

Required

• A degree in interior design or a related field, with at least 12 to 15 years of experience in workplace interior design.
• Proven experience managing a team of designers and overseeing project delivery and operations.
• Strong leadership qualities, with the ability to mentor designers and provide guidance to team members.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high-quality standards.
• Proficiency in operational software such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and SharePoint).
• Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Knowledge of workplace design trends, building codes, and industry standards.
• Strong organizational, time-management, and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
• A passion for design, with a desire to stay current with the latest design trends and technologies.
