- Design, development and implementation of IPS Onboarding Training – This must be aligned to the IPS training available for progression in manufacturing roles within the business.
- Design and delivery of digital training to support the manufacturing flightpath and wider manufacturing needs.
- Change control of created training interventions.
- Management of team of 3 to assist in training roll out.
- Create and maintain learning solutions that support Manufacturing with regards to Integrated Production Systems to enable our people to consistently deliver Jaguar Land Rover’s strategic and tactical objectives.
- Drive change – to build a culture of continuous learning, to enable our people to achieve the highest standards in their contribution to business performance and innovation. Defining standards, structured curriculums and activities to ensure our people are fit for the future – removing duplication and driving efficiencies of scale where appropriate.
- Project manage the development of digital learning solutions, taking into account business need, intended scope, learning outcomes, learner profile, location, prior experience, suitable delivery formats, national awards, duration, cost constraints, technology availability and assessment needs. This includes identifying key milestones and estimating timing and resources to develop.
- Work with internal subject matter experts to build learning which is engaging and as far as possible aligned to business application. Using appropriate computer-based development tools as necessary to enable learning in a variety of formats.
- Maintain awareness of external development partners, their strengths and availability of existing solutions which may satisfy business requirements in part or in full.
- Create clear statements of work for items to be externally sourced and support the tender and selection process with Purchasing teams as appropriate to ensure quality and value for money.
- Maximise the use of learning technologies and collaborative networks to improve access to competency development in a format which is appropriate to the situation and enables the learner to quickly apply their learning to improve their own capability and business performance.
- Apply knowledge of adult learning pedagogy to ensure a high quality and impactful learner experience in line with brand values.
- Support the effective piloting of major programmes to ensure readiness for volume delivery and that delivery teams have all the necessary information to execute consistently and effectively.
- Work with existing D Grade Senior Learning Solutions Specialist and provide support to a Team of 3 B grades and 4 C grades who are responsible for developing learning material, coaching and training the Local Integrated Production Systems Teams.
- Flexible and has the ability to travel to manufacturing sites to support and deliver L&D activities.
- Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested from time to time.
- Proven experience of building technical learning solutions and identify any additional resources and likely time required to reach a good solution.
- Proven experience in the design and delivery of a range of digital learning methodologies, with an understanding of the changing scope of learning technologies and their impact on training.
- Knowledgeable in Learning and Development methodologies (eg competency frameworks, learning needs analysis, adult learning pedagogy, approaches to assessment and evaluation).
- Previous experience in a similar role with a proven track record of successful delivery with impact.
- Experience of working with external providers to deliver learning solutions, including writing clear statements of work, identifying and supporting the selection of potential delivery partners.
- Experience of working with multiple stake holders at all levels to design, build and deploy effective learning solutions which are cost effective.
- Experience of leading a team to deliver training solutions.
- An individual with a strong set of experiences in a manufacturing / production system who also understands the wider trends affecting the sector.
- An effective team player, who can identify clear learning outcomes, which are focussed and will make impact. Who is comfortable challenging to ensure real needs are identified and quantified, and who can guide on the appropriate format of solutions which could be deployed.
- An individual who is able to manage complexity in respect of the wide range of factors in creating and implementing successful learning interventions through being able to balance conflicting demands of content, cost, learner availability, learner numbers, duration, geography, learner demographics etc.
- An individual who is able to develop relationships with key customers and can use their experience and personal style to ensure that high performance is maintained.
- An individual who embraces the opportunity to adopt digital forms of delivery and knowledge transfer where appropriate to support a cultural shift away from face-to-face learning.

JLR is looking for a Senior Learning Solutions Specialist to join Manufacturing Business Excellence which is a core pillar of the Manufacturing Function and is responsible for JLR’s Integrated Production Systems (IPS).In this role, you will work closely with different teams and stakeholders such as Early Careers Programme owners, JLR Academy delivery team, Local IPS and IPS L&D teams within manufacturing, HR Capability specialists in Professional Development etc, to support a multi-site, cross functional international team with the following:
You’ll have the opportunity to provide a World Class approach to people capability development and be in charge for the creation of new learning solutions to deliver enhanced technical capability for Integrated Production Systems within Manufacturing. Solutions may be created in-house through applying existing knowledge or engagement with subject matter experts, and/or in conjunction with external providers.
