      The Senior Manager, Food Safety position provides technical leadership and guidance to the Subway stakeholders on all food safety and quality initiatives as well as emerging issues (crisis management). Provides direct Food Safety & Quality Assurance (FSQA) support to the Latin America region, while managing and leading team members. Guides the strategic implementation of programs and systems to ensure the strictest standards of safety and quality are upheld in all Latin America and Caribbean markets.

      Essential Functions:
      • Provides technical support on EPD/NPD execution for the Region to streamline the process and drive efficiency, participate in sample reviews, attend key business meetings, connect with Operations to run kitchen and restaurant trials/test (sample revision).
      • Manages market-level Food Safety & Quality Leads and/or Managers to ensure execution of appropriate business priorities.
      • Leads all quality projects across the Region: spec management, product approvals, commercialization, product summits, product evaluation, quality complaints, continuous improvement.
      • Supports the implementation of corporate food safety and supplier management processes and systems within the Region.
      • Provides expertise, support, and guidance to internal and external partners in resolving complex food safety and product quality challenges within the Region.
      • Develops metrics and oversee team monitoring of key performance indicators for food safety for LAC suppliers and restaurants.
      • Develop, maintain & approve product specification in coordination with cross functional teams (Supply Chain, OPS, BU, MKT) & ensure products and specs conform with local/regional regulations and brand standards.

      Skills and Abilities Required:
      • Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Food Safety, Food Engineering, Microbiology, or other related field.
      • Strong knowledge/experience (preferably 10+ years) of food science/technology and how it relates to product safety and quality parameters.
      • Must be comfortable with the formulation and manufacturing controls for all product categories (proteins, dairy, bakery, etc.) supplied within the Subway system.
      • Exceptional communication, writing, presentation, and training skills for audiences from both technical and non-technical backgrounds.
      • Must possess strong organizational agility, ability to handle conflict within all levels of the Subway organization, and experience developing working relationships with industry and regulatory officials.
      • Excellent communication skills and ability to influence decisions within the organization using his/her technical knowledge.
      • Current HACCP certification, knowledge of GFSI and regional food safety regulations strongly preferred
