      Reports to: PACS Director Netherlands

      The Public Affairs Manager drives the strategy and implements initiatives that enable a comprehensive analysis of and approach towards the Dutch regulatory and legislative environment. This position is responsible for the engagement on regulatory measures applying to the category or to the company and the comprehensive and evolutive assessment of the sustainability commitments and achievements of the Coca-Cola System. The Public Affairs Manager leads the local advocacy efforts with key stakeholders including the government, regulators, NGOs and consumers who have company and/or product related interests.

      What You’ll Do for Us:

      • Understand the details of the Business Plan of the company to fully compare and identify challenges and opportunities within the governmental policy.
      • Coordination and management in public relations, communications, initiatives to promote and strengthen reputation and value of brands within the business is of importance.
      • Requires developing new approaches for spreading the new shared value business model and culture as well as to develop a visible leadership role in engaging with government, NGOS, and industry representatives across the system to maximize opportunities to build a stronger platform with all relevant stakeholders in The Netherlands.
      • Handles a high level of complexities in communicating strategies, policies, statements, and positioning across the Coca-Cola System including bottling companies as well as civil servants, politicians and policy makers in particular, to ensure support for business and brands. Communication will be the main pillar of the relationship with NGOs, key opinion leaders, media, community in general and consumers
      • Works with all functions within the Company and bottlers. Network building with key members of Europe OU is also required to import / export best practices and guidelines.

      Issues Management

      • Prioritize public policy issues that affect our business
      • Focus on the areas of Health and Nutrition and Sustainability
      • Provide strategic advice to the business on the potential impact of business decisions on our market position
      • Manage on monitoring processes and communicate internally about the ongoing evolution of our concrete actions on Health and Nutrition and Sustainability, also related to our market position

      Sustainability programs

      • Adapts to local reality the Europe OU sustainability strategy and defines local System initiatives to further enhance our Sustainability efforts
      • Manages the conversation with key opinion leaders and NGO’s
      • Drives the Coca-Cola Foundation investments in NGO’s programs relevant to our company CSR strategy

      Identify, prioritize and engage

      • Drives common stakeholder mapping and prioritization methodology across the system,
      • Develops and implement a systematic and on-going stakeholder engagement plan,
      • Represents the company as a point of contact amongst stakeholders (Politicians, Health professionals, trade associations, sustainability experts)
      • Drive stakeholder trust of TCCS in Netherlands through the development and strengthening of relationships

      Qualifications & Requirements:

      • Solid experience (7+ years) in government relations, stakeholder management or public affairs and in communications
      • Dutch (native), Advanced English – both speaking and writing
      • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
      • Government Relations experience
      • Media relations experience especially in environment and health
      • Crisis and issue management experience
      • Experience in working with NGOs
      • Full digital and social media engagement-Proficient
      • Technical knowledge on Corporate Social Responsibility/Sustainability

      Desirable Experience:

      • Experience working with sustainable or corporate responsibility programs and for multi-national company is preferred
      • Advanced writing and writing across different media
      • Experience in organizations with matrix management styles
      • Proven ability to get things done without close supervision
      • Design of processes and activities, objective setting and follow up, performance evaluations, coaching & feedback
      • Comfortable in working with Agile Methodology

      Travel requirements:

      • 35% within Netherlands and 15% outside of Netherlands of travel required
