About the opportunity

As the Southern California and Pacific Islands (SoCalPac) Senior Marketing Coordinator, you will play a key role supervising members of the marketing team, leading pursuit development, and supporting business development activities to sell our services to our clients across multiple industries.

As SWCA grows, we are on the lookout for talented individuals who can help us support our clients and internal stakeholders in the field of environmental consulting. Our SoCalPac offices (Pasadena, San Diego, and Honolulu) are looking for a Senior Marketing Coordinator to support a winning business development culture and help drive our business to the next level. Our ideal candidate will thrive in an environment with tight deadlines and changing needs while ensuring a best-in-class product.

This is a full-time, remote, regular (with benefits) position, with a salary range of $79,560 – $102,960/year. It is preferred the candidate be in the Pasadena, San Diego, or Phoenix areas, but ultimately this position provides the flexibility of working remotely, in a hybrid capacity, or in-office as needed.

What you will accomplish

• Supervise two (2) marketing staff, providing mentorship, and fostering a collaborative work environment.

• Be a “go-to” resource for technical staff for marketing information, guidance, and support.
• Participate in strategic planning for pursuits, marketing, and business development efforts, including:
  • leading internal teams through the pursuit development process — taking an active role in strategy and content development;
  • facilitating capture planning activities, working collaboratively with technical staff; and,
  • coordinating business development activities (meetings, research, events/conferences)
• Write non-technical content for pursuits and marketing materials.
• Participate in preparations for interviews and client presentations.

Experience and qualifications for success

Required:

• A minimum of five (5) years of experience managing the proposal development process.
• A minimum of one (1) year of experience managing or mentoring marketing staff.
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, Communications, Business, Marketing, or related technical discipline (degrees in other specialties are acceptable if relevance can be demonstrated).
• A demonstrated ability to efficiently manage resources, workloads, and deadlines.
• Exceptional planning, organizational, proofreading, writing, and formatting skills.
• Ability to lead processes and work with colleagues who have diverse interpersonal styles.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite.

Preferred:

• Prior experience working within the A/E/C industry
• Prior experience collaborating with the Business Development team(s) to pre-position and conduct capture planning for must win efforts
• Participation with associations and/or organizational marketing experience
• Experience working in Deltek Vision, SharePoint, or comparable management information system.

This position may require occasional overtime, including working evenings and/or weekends as necessary to meet submission deadlines.

An employee in this Pasadena, CA office-based position can expect a salary of $79,560 - $102,960/year. Actual pay within this range may depend on experience, qualifications, geographic location, client requirements where applicable, and other factors permitted by law.
