Lead the Knee marketing strategy in Europe to deliver above market growth
Development of trust and strong relationships with LOCAL marketers, sales professionals, internal stakeholders, and key customers (KOL)
Be bold in deploying the team’s resources to where the group can have maximum impact on the European business
Develop customer relationships that provide strategic insights and deep understanding of customer needs
Balance people management with a hands-on approach to driving the portfolio, playing the role of “player-manager”
Represent the European business in global marketing activities, including upstream marketing
Identify opportunities to collaborate with divisions across Stryker to drive growth and deliver enhanced customer value
Through the Annual Marketing Plan process, lead your team to develop the annual and long- term Knee and Joint Replacement strategy in Europe to achieve required growth, operating income, and market share targets.
Develop a deep understanding of the financial performance of the Knee portfolio, communicating these appropriately within the organization.
In collaboration with the Medical education team, identify education, brand experience and customer engagement opportunities for both internal and external audiences.
Partner with divisional resources to develop portfolio through new product development, line extensions and M&A activity.
Work in partnership with local Product Managers in a complex matrix organization, influencing and ensuring execution of the pan European strategies.
Manage branding, messaging, positioning, and pricing of knee brands based on market, customer, and competitive insights
Drive your team’s creation of progressive, and impactful product launches
Define and execute regional product life cycle including phase-in (launch) and phase-out (PLCM) of products
Provide analysis of business performance, brand perception, and other drivers of future brand performance. Define mitigating actions to deliver on strategy.
Ensure clarity of communication with local marketing teams, and in doing so, facilitate alignment of Marketing strategy throughout Europe
Forge strong relationships throughout the JR division globally
Together with your European brand managers, define and execute European product life cycle (e.g., PLCM), including launch and phase-out of products
Provide analysis Knee business performance, brand perception, and other drivers of future brand performance
Create pan-European, scalable virtual and in-person customer engagement events such as facility tours/events/congresses, hands-on opportunities, and medical education programs
Manage branding, messaging, positioning, and pricing of assigned brands based on market, customer and competitive insights
Act as a role model for global organizational, social, and moral values
A sophisticated collaborator, networker, and communicator, capable of leveraging these strengths effectively within a matrix organization
Proven track record in international marketing and/or sales management in a multinational medical device company
Proven experience in implementing marketing initiatives that result in above market growth and delivery of financial commitments
Demonstrated experience in establishing marketing programs to evaluate market characteristics and trends, to position and differentiate products within both new and existing markets
A marketer with the ability to relate to colleagues and surgeons from different markets and cultures
Experience in managing, coaching, or mentoring marketing team members
10 years+ of Marketing experience of which a significant portion is within the MedTech industry
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Economics, Engineering, Life Science or relevant field (Masters or MBA Highly desirable)
Minimum of 30% travel should be expected
Location: flexible within Europe, preference for Amsterdam near international airport/travel hub
People management experience is desirable
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Proven success record in leading marketing projects (incl. marketing plans, product launches and campaigns within Orthopaedic industry)
Extensive knowledge of product management processes, planning and execution
Track record as contributor and marketing lead in cross-functional projects
Experienced in financial modelling (e.g., for product launches, strategic planning etc.)
Broad experience in KOL management and general customer engagement
Proven track record of analysis of key customer and competition trends

Job Mission
The Senior Manager, Marketing, Joint Replacement Europe – Knees, is the strategic portfolio leader with responsibility for driving market share growth through the formulation and execution of strategic marketing plans, reporting to the Senior Director, Marketing & Education, Joint Replacement Europe.
The Senior Manager, Knees is the pan-European brand expert who sets strategic direction and ensures execution for portfolio growth through development and execution of marketing campaigns and strategies, portfolio development, internal and external education strategies, and European customer engagement campaigns while motivating, coaching, and managing as part of a player coach role to Brand Manager team.
Additionally, the Senior Manager will be act as the primary marketing connection with the US-Knee Joint Replacement team, ensuring the European business is strongly represented and deeply connected to the Global organization.
