      Trinity Rail is hiring a Sr. Mobile Repair Technician at our Hawarden, IA-Mobile Repair site.

      What You'll Do:

      • Conducts railcar inspections to ensure cars are in compliance
      • Performs repairs as necessary while always using current repair procedures
      • Meets the expectations and requirements of all customers to ensure we deliver an exceptional customer experience
      • Ensures all necessary invoicing, inspection, and work order information is accurate and complete
      • Actively participate in safety assessments and equipment inspections
      • May be required to mentor/train lower-level technicians.
      • Follow all safety rules and practices
      • May be involved in safety committees or initiatives
      • Understand and complete all basic required on-board training in regard to safety and quality
      • Performs other duties as assigned
      • Trains lower levels.

      What You'll Need:

      • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in railcar maintenance or manufacturing or proficient in two or more of the following disciplines: Air Brake Testing, Welding, Gasket Valves and Fasteners, BLTII, PTII, VTII, Qualified Coating Applicator, Qualified Coating Inspector, Qualified Abrasive Blaster or other qualifications as applicable.
      • Candidates must be willing to travel and work in required locations.
      • Experience/Knowledgeable with the Field Manual of the AAR Interchange rules
      • Ability to learn how to perform general inspections on railcars
      • Ability to learn how to perform a final inspection of completed work
      • Advanced skills in reading engineered drawings
      • Ability to learn how to create and complete BRC
      • Ability to learn all major railcar components and basic functions
      • Ability to work within confined spaces and from elevated heights as required to perform work.
      • Ability to perform confined space monitoring and create hot work permits.
      • Ability to perform work outlined without direct supervision
      • Ability to use hand tools such as hammers, torches, wrenches, hydraulic jacks, pneumatic tools, and others as required.
      • Ability to pass any required NDT disciplines and function specific certifications, which may include tank car welding, and demonstrates strong familiarity with AAR rules and regulations
      • Any type of Welding/Valve/Mechanical experience or railcar knowledge is preferred
      • Valid Driver’s License, good driving record
