What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Process prior authorization requests via phone, fax, or electronically, utilizing various computer resources
- Complete prior authorization approvals and denials accurately and in a timely manner
- Review potential prior authorization denial language to ensure compliance with NCQA requirements
- Handle a high volume of prior authorization inquiry calls from providers, pharmacies, and internal partners
- Participate in training, continuing education, and team meetings as required

What is Required (Qualifications):
- National Pharmacy Technician certification (PTCB, NHA/ExCPT) in good standing
- 1-5+ years of Pharmacy Prior Authorization processing experience (retail or hospital experience may be considered)
- Strong multitasking and prioritization skills
- Ability to adjust to business or department needs
- High school diploma or GED

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience in retail or hospital settings
- Knowledge of managed care or Medicaid
- Familiarity with AS400 systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, and Outlook)
- Understanding of pharmacy practices and clinical information
