      Rethink's roadmap has the following objectives:

      • Successfully improve upon the automated quoting and placing processes and build out its technology stack, incl. Rethink's UW Algorithm and rules engine
      • Deploy a new underwriting platform to allow for more complex acceptance criteria and data augmentation

      Portfolio Actuary

      We are looking for an Actuary with experience in London Market pricing and portfolio management. With the implementation of our new underwriting platform, we are now embarking on an exciting project that involves implementing a new data platform with analytics capability. Your role will be to help us build out that tooling as well as our entire cross class analytics suite. We are looking for someone who wants to accelerate change in the London Market and wants to apply their excellent analytical skills to develop best in class tools and insights for both our Brokers and our Carriers. You will also be given an opportunity to grow the Analytics team over time in order to support our growing business.

      Initially your role will focus on the platform and tooling build as well as articulation and build of use cases for our new analytics platform. Over time you will also be integral to the development of the analytics road map and the actuarial models and tools that form part of it including but not limited to portfolio profitability and rate adequacy.

      What you’ll bring:

      • Proven experience in specialty lines pricing or portfolio analysis (preferably in the London market)
      • Coding skills in VBA, SQL, R and/or Python
      • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field
      • Analytical skills to evaluate business segment profitability
      • Ability to interpret trends and make recommendations to key stakeholders to improve business outcomes or optimise processes
      • Mental agility and adaptability to changing circumstances
      • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively to a range of stakeholders
      • Good time management, able to prioritise work and meet deadlines
      • Prior experience in managing a small team.

      Desirable extra skills and experience:

      • Actuarial qualification
      • Experience in predictive analytics
