Veritas’ Worldwide Sales and Marketing team propels company growth by driving all aspects of sales and marketing, including direct and channel sales, global sales enablement and all marketing functions.
SCOPE OF ROLE:
This role is focused on working with a set of assigned accounts and/or territory and Sales to obtain closure and manage technical risk on new VERITAS business.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides a level of technical expertise and technical closure for a specific solution within an assigned accounts and/or territories . Technical closure means that the solution and technology you represent has been nominated as the technical winner.
Recognised within the team and customers as the subject matter expert across Data Protection, Information Archiving, Storage, Security and Cloud.
Maintain product/solution expertise of market trends in aligned technology including detailed understanding of the competition, their strengths and weaknesses.
Provide high level solution design for Data Protection and Information management
Be able to present the VERITAS technical vision and articulating our strategy across the solution portfolio to all stakeholders within the customer internally and externally e.g. technical or business needs
Own the delivery of technical briefings for solutions and/products for external and internal customers/partners including proof of concepts/demonstrations when required
Maintaining key relationships/contacts within the Sales, Technology Sales, customers and partners
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
Proven track record of building and maintaining excellent customer relationships with both technical and business stakeholders
Ability to map Veritas offerings against customer needs and to identify new opportunities within the territory/customers
Able to develop joint roadmaps to align customer to vendor roadmaps and articulate the value of a strategic technology partnership over a long term
Consistent proven achievement against financial goals, targets or metrics
Understands the importance of driving the technical sales lifecycle and how this is aligned with sales deal lifecycle.
Has an understanding of operational cadence for their specific area
Ensures operating within compliance from a process, legal and revenue recognition perspective
Presents themselves in a professional manner at all times, being a representative and ambassador of their organisation
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
Comes from an IT background working within a world class software organisation covering IT Infrastructure, Datacentre technology
Technical Sales experience in Background in Backup & Recovery, Information Archiving and Storage is required
Knowledge of VMware, Oracle DB, Cloud Architectures and Big Data Architectures is preferred
External qualification/industry certification e.g. CISSP, SNIA, ITIL,SANS GIAC, CISA, CISM
Degree/Master’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent IT related subject and/or specific industry related experience
