Salary: 45,326+ (Commensurate with skills and experience)

What you’ll be doing:

A Strategic Senior Procurement Professional to take responsibility for a portfolio of suppliers /spend within the General Systems supply base that will be actively managing and driving strategic value activities for your area of responsibility.

You will be undertaking analysis of supplier pricing to ensure value for money, driving cost reductions and leading affordability campaigns, ensuring effective supplier risk management and supply chain resilience. You will be an integral stakeholder in enabling supplier performance through effective supplier relationship management providing support to Life Cycle Management and associated Governance activities; all whilst working closely with your various internal customers.

• Manage supplier relationships and be the primary interface for commercial and contractual issues

• Support all sourcing and strategic activity for the defined Suppliers including negotiating pricing and contracting terms and conditions as applicable

• Lead and influence supply strategies, via continuous improvement, to ensure an affordable, innovative and sustainable solution is being delivered

• Lead and support Senior Business Reviews with Suppliers

• Manage Supplier risk and drive supply chain resilience

• Interface across the Air business and with other teams and functions, e.g. PM, Engineering, Commercial, Finance

• Travel to various Suppliers as and when required.

Your skills and experiences:

• Should have significant experience in a Procurement and Defence environment including negotiation of pricing, contractual terms and conditions

· A Continuous Improvement mind-set with proven examples of identifying new ideas that drive improvement, problem solving and working collaboratively with others to identify a solution ideally within a Procurement (or similar) environment

• Working understanding of tool sets and IT such as ERP systems, Microsoft Office programs particularly in Excel.

• Ability to compile data, analyse and propose recommendations through reports and presentations
