Act as a trusted advisor to the business making strategic recommendations using data modeling to explain short term and long term impacts
Design, build and maintain the project plan, including scope, schedule, budget, dependency, and risk management
Ability to identify or establish data points to deliver measurements that ensure intended outcomes of projects/programs are achieved
Advocate for supportability, quality, and customer experience throughout product planning and development
Manage the gathering of project requirements and project scope in a holistic manner across multiple teams and business functions
Monitor progress in execution and design a recovery strategy if the project deviates from the baseline plan
Assemble and publish effective status reports to serve a variety of audiences from project team members to executives
Design and deliver executive-level presentations to support the governance process for Product Lifecycle Management (PLM)
Conduct retrospectives during and at the end of projects to support process, policy, and tool-set improvements
Collaborate with peers, managers, and team members across the organization to solve problems, drive continuous improvement, and coordinate actions
Ability to understand desired business functionality and translate into documented application requirements
Ability to create compelling business cases with accurate cost and effort estimations
Advanced knowledge of business analysis best practices including documentation requirements for large bodies of work
Perform other related duties as assigned
Global Services to Product Group operational efficiency
Subject Matter Expert on assigned Product Group(s)
Align and coordinate communications and execution across Global Services workstreams
Advocate for Global Services functional and non-functional requirements
Coordinate development and implementation of new Support and Services Offers
Partner with Global Services workstreams to establish success metrics
Synthesize objectives into strategies and execution plans
Execute Release Readiness projects for assigned Product Group(s)
Identify potential risks or issues and work with workstream leads to build and implement mitigation and resolution plans
Represent Global Services in cross-functional meetings
Report out on Global Services product lifecycle stage-gate readiness
Ability to communicate effectively across written, verbal, and presentation formats to a variety of audiences from project team members to Executives
Ability to develop a project schedule using work-breakdown techniques that lead to a defined critical path
Ability to use either Waterfall and Agile methods to manage projects which may comprise both software and hardware
Ability to design and document a project charter that includes scope, schedule, budget, and risk management plan
Able to apply critical thinking techniques to analyze problems, develop solutions, build resource forecasts or manage risk
Ability to understand desired business functionality and translate into documented application requirements
Ability to create compelling business cases with accurate cost and effort estimates
Advanced knowledge of business analysis best practices including documentation requirements for large bodies of work
Ability to lead through influence to drive both the team and program forward
Ability to manage and facilitate team meetings and initiatives to effectively develop plans and achieve goals
Desired: Strong working knowledge of software companies and the interplay between Marketing, Product Development, Manufacturing, Customer Support, Sales and Professional Services
Expertise in the use of standard tools for project and portfolio management such as MS Project/MS Project Server
Strong team orientation with the ability to listen, organize, and champion key initiatives and projects
Flexible, self-motivated, a standout teammate, and able to work independently and lead others on projects
Excellent communication skills with a demonstrated history of clean, concise written and verbal updates
Willing to travel up to 20% of the time
Typically requires a minimum of 15 years related experience or a Bachelor's degree; or ten years and a Master's degree; or equivalent work experience
Preferred PMP certification with accompanying experience managing projects to a successful conclusion
10+ year experience in business intelligence or as a data analyst
7+ years of direct or related experience in program management
Experience working with a geo-dispersed team and building service offerings
4+ years experience conducting competitive analysis and performing industry research

GS Sr. Technical Program Manager
Primary Responsibilities
At F5 Global Services (GS), we’ve launched a Center of Excellence program to produce repeatable, scalable, cost-effective, and objectively excellent processes for the creation, implementation, and management of Support and Services Offers for all products! We're looking for an strategic, data driven, analytical and creative individual who enjoys, creating innovative offerings, improving processes with value driven measurements, can establish and maintain inter-organizational relationships, to drive delivery of enterprise solutions.
The GS Center of Excellence Senior Technical Program Manager is responsible for establishing, maintaining, and improving the working relationship between the Global Services organization and our Product Organization. The role serves as a strategic advisor to global services teams (support, professional services, education services, customer success) acts as a two-way subject matter expert between Global Services and our Product Organization. The role will be the primary point of contact by partnering with Global Services on Release Readiness projects, drive inter-organizational strategic projects which range from business model changes, process improvements, requirements definition, and new service offering development and will be responsible for managing implementations.
The role of the Senior Technical Program Manager involves eliciting, analyzing, and documenting Services requirements and effectively communicating them to stakeholders along with their recommendations. This role acts as a trusted advisor to the business and is responsible for managing requirement changes to ensure that deliver solution add maximum value and met success measures. To accomplish this, they conduct interviews, industry research and perform competitive analysis, facilitate workshops, and collaborate with Service delivery teams and Product Management to deliver valuable customer offerings. Senior Technical Program Manager deeply understand the industry and how to establish future-state processes based on data, and leverage systems and automation. They must be able to develop business cases based on data that outline the consequences of making a business change to address a specific need. They are skilled at developing metrics and leveraging analytics tools to assess and validate if a solution will fulfill requirements and deliver the stated business benefits.

The annual U.S. base pay range for this position is: $163,128.00 - $244,692.00F5 maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, geographic locations, and market conditions, as well as to reflect F5’s differing products, industries, and lines of business. The pay range referenced is as of the time of the job posting and is subject to change.
