Based in either Edinburgh or London, you’ll be part of a small public and regulatory affairs team in the UK, working with a high degree of autonomy on a range of energy policy issues, and interfacing with both political and regulatory audiences.

      Vattenfall is one of Europe’s largest producers and retailers of electricity and heat. Our main markets are Sweden, Germany, the Netherlands, Denmark, and the UK, and we employ around 20,000 people across our Group. About the role

      You will contribute to our commercial and strategic interests by acting as the key interface between Vattenfall and political and regulatory stakeholders, and with others who are engaged on public and regulatory policy development. You will be responsible for influencing the development of attractive market frameworks and for building and enhancing a positive external reputation. No two days are the same, but you’ll be expected to:

      • Build strong relationships with colleagues across our business, and understand our priorities and where you can most add value;
      • Monitor, identify and analyse political and regulatory developments and work with colleagues to identify the potential impact on our business;
      • Manage relationships with regulators, civil servants and politicians, and devise and implement influencing strategies for them;
      • Work with colleagues across all our markets on Group positions, and bring a UK perspective to Group activity;
      • Build strong relationships with media colleagues in the UK, and with the broader communications function across Group;
      • Represent Vattenfall externally, including on Trade Association, and Government working groups.
