      This is a full-time role, with a flexible hybrid working environment, based in Pyrmont, Sydney. Work with a team of enthusiastic Content Managers on a range of online products, journals, books and other content.

      About the Role

      In this opportunity as Publishing Editor, you will:

      You’re a fit for the role of Senior Publishing Editor if your background includes:

      • Coordination of end-to-end publishing activities: commissioning new content, author management (including contract preparation, liaison re payments), content review, scheduling of updates, vendor liaison, product administration, co-ordination of off-shore teams and general troubleshooting (eg Content Management System issues, uploading, print preparation).

      • Working with offshore editorial production teams and vendors, for assigned content sets and ensure production schedules are met.

      • Coordinating external and internal resources to implement annual/long term planning of assigned content sets, eg preparatory work for new content/editions, monitoring key developments and briefing stakeholders/authors.

      • Consulting and negotiating with content providers/authors regarding schedules, style and format of material, delivery benchmarks as required.

      • Driving resolution of a broad range of problems relating to processing and production of assigned content sets.

      • Respond with speed and clarity to customer queries and requests.

      About You

      You’re a fit for the role of Publishing Editor if your background includes:

      • Editorial and publishing experience (knowledge of copy editing, XML, content management systems for print and online activities, author management, publishing life cycles).

      • Stakeholder management – author management, working closely with offshore teams and external vendors, strong customer awareness.

      • Excellent communication skills – the ability to communicate effectively across teams.

      • Understanding of the Australian legal system.

      • Research skills, commissioning, content curation.
