Join the EMEA team of Property Risk Engineers on our journey to become the leading service provider in the world of commercial insurance! You will work closely with clients and brokers as the technical owner of all Property / Process Safety Risk Management matters with a focus on our German & Austrian book of business, with the opportunity to service clients in other regions.

About the Role

As the Account Engineer for midsize to large accounts in the chemical industry, you will define a service strategy and engineer your own portfolio to achieve thoughtful risk selection and contribute to grow a profitable book of business. You will review, interpret, and build your professional opinion based on 3rd party risk information, conduct prospect visits and develop a strategic servicing plan for our clients.

You will also lead your own field-engineering visits, setting priorities and targets for risk improvement and partner with our clients to develop a long-term relationship. Based on your skills, you will develop into a specialist in specific core industries or subject matters, such as the global chemical industry. This includes driving various projects, initiatives, developing implementing strategies, producing standard methodologies, guidelines or papers and industry updates, or developing new innovative service offerings.

About the Team

We are a diverse team of engineers across EMEA based in Munich, Zurich, Paris, Milan, Madrid, Amsterdam, Copenhagen, London and Johannesburg with a high level of ambitious spirit, energy and expertise that we want to complement and strengthen together with your support. At the same time, we gain experiences, grow and have fun!

As a member of the RES EMEA Central team of ten Property Risk Engineers, you will be fully embedded in the EMEA business, primarily serving the German and Austrian markets, while working closely with all other regions in EMEA.

About You

We are looking for a confident engineer with strong interpersonal skills and a service-oriented approach to both internal and external partners. You have excellent presentation skills and a strong entrepreneurial attitude with eye for business and flexibility. If you are a results-oriented and positive teammate who actively contributes to results and spirit of the team, we would like to meet you.

• University degree in chemical engineering, process engineering or related engineering field
• Strong risk engineering background or alternatively process safety experience (> 5 years in a reputable company)
• Strong analytical skills with a strong affinity for technology, data analytics and digital solutions (e.g., Microsoft Office, databases and statistics)
• Excellent verbal and written German (native or business) and English; additional language skills helpful
• Willingness to travel – mainly within Europe
