What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities within the assigned territory to meet or exceed sales goals
- Build and nurture long-term relationships with existing and potential customers, acting as their primary point of contact
- Plan and execute territory strategies, including customer visits, presentations, and follow-ups
- Develop a deep understanding of company products, services, and industry trends to effectively communicate value propositions to customers
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities, pipeline updates, and account information in the CRM system
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Must be located in the Chicago area
- Minimum of 5 years of sales experience, preferably in a territory-based role
- Specific knowledge of architectural products is highly desired
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- A bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field is preferred but not required
- Willingness to travel within the assigned territory
- Strong problem-solving skills with a customer-focused mindset
- Solid working knowledge of the contract sales process
- Occasional overnight travel
