What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Serve as the communication designer for microwave, wireless systems, fiber optic, and infrastructure
- Conduct field surveys for new communication systems and perform engineering calculations
- Develop technical reports and maintain accurate records and files
- Design wireless, fiber optic, and serial communication systems, including microwave path designs
- Lead communication field and office meetings to coordinate project activities

What is Required (Qualifications):
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in SCADA or related field
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting electric schematics and wiring diagrams
- Knowledge of AutoCAD and engineering software packages such as PathLoss, MatLab, and RadioSoft
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to pass a post-offer drug and alcohol test in compliance with Federal regulations

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience in the electric utility industry performing similar work
- Project management certification (PMP or CAPM)
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) certification
- Demonstrated leadership skills during projects and meetings with stakeholders
- Familiarity with communication tower standards and microwave propagation calculations
