      NVIDIA is searching for a highly motivated, creative software engineer to join the VLSI Methodology Software team. As someone who is hardworking and passionate about software design, you will develop key aspects of our next-generation in-house visualization and design software. You will function as a full-cycle software developer, designing and authoring first-pass code. You will participate in all aspects of an Agile software development team. Thousands of hardware engineers at NVIDIA need custom software for visualizing and improving our next generation of GPUs, AI accelerators, and CPUs. We are building a team of talented software engineers to engage with these teams to create exciting new tools.       What you'll be doing:

      • Write challenging, innovative, well-designed, and high-quality new code for desktop applications using Java/JavaFX

      • Design, development, review, test, release, and support of high-capacity and high-performance chip design and visualization tools, with possible tasks ranging from algorithms to GUI implementation

      • Collaborate with internal engineering customers worldwide to envision new tools and define their requirements

      • Participate in a variety of agile practices with fellow developers

      What we need to see:

      • MS CS/CPE, or BS CS/CPE or equivalent experience

      • 5+ years of relevant software development experience

      • Expert skills in Java and Object-Oriented design

      • Proficiency with modern software platforms and tools (e.g. Java 17, JavaFX 17, git, IDEA, unit test frameworks, continuous integration tools)

      • Experience with high-capacity tools requiring custom data structures and algorithms

      • Software architecture experience

      • Desire to learn and use sound software design principles

      • Able to adapt to the needs of our team’s growing scope and vision

      Ways to stand out from the crowd:

      • Experience with graphical user-interface design

      • Performance analysis and tuning experience

      • Experience with networking techniques

      The base salary range is 156,000 USD - 287,500 USD. Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions.
