Lead the editing and enhancement of sports photos to meet the highest quality standards expected by our clients.
Collaborate closely with photographers and editors to ensure timely and accurate delivery of sports images.
Write and edit captions in English quickly and accurately for a global audience.
Manage and implement metadata tagging for all sports images to ensure easy retrieval and categorization.
Work as part of a multimedia team, integrating pictures, text, video, and online content to ensure comprehensive news coverage.
Be ready to mentor and guide junior team members, sharing best practices and fostering a collaborative work environment.
Extensive experience in photo editing, with a focus on sports photography.
Fluent in English, with additional languages being advantageous.
Passionate about sports journalism with a deep interest in various sports, particularly football.
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, capable of performing under pressure.
Degree in Photography, Journalism, Mass Communication, or equivalent experience.
Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, diverse, and global team environment.
Commitment to the Trust Principles of independence, integrity, and freedom from bias.
An innovative mindset with a keen interest in AI and its potential applications in photo editing and journalism, eager to explore how technology can enhance storytelling and workflow efficiency.

This position will be based in Barcelona, Spain.
Reuters is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Sport Photo Editor with a strong background in international sports coverage and exceptional English communication skills, both written and spoken, to join our new hub in Barcelona, Spain.
As a Senior Sport Photo Editor, you will play a crucial role in our Action Images editing team, ensuring the speed, quality, and accuracy of our sports photo delivery to clients worldwide. Your expertise will be essential in covering major sporting events such as the Olympics, World Cups, and World Championships. This job requires flexibility and willingness to work as part of a global 24/7 rotating shift system. Be prepared for work schedules that are often determined by ongoing sporting events, which frequently occur over weekends and typically in the afternoons and evenings
