- Perform materials testing and microstructural characterization including SEM/EDX, micro-CT, DSC, metallography
- Select techniques to analyze and solve very complex material problems and make sound recommendations
- Design and coordinate complex materials related engineering tests and experiments.
- Analyze and draw conclusions from complex test results
- Clearly summarize, communicate and properly document results and recommendations
- Take initiative to reach out to external expertise to resolve technical issues
- Work with existing vendors and assess new vendors
- Work collaboratively with others to achieve business objectives and influence projects across the neurovascular division
- Train and/or provide work direction to technicians and entry-level engineers
- Work independently with minimal guidance to plan, organize and schedule own activities necessary to meet timelines
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Material Science or applicable technical field.
- 6+ years experience in engineering and Material’s Engineering.
- Master’s Degree or PHD in Engineering/Materials Science.
- Prior medical device experience.
- Strong knowledge of materials including metals and polymers.

As a Materials Engineer, you will work as a material consultant for product development teams that design and develop next generation technology for stroke treatment and prevention. You will provide material characterization testing, analyze data and provide reports summarizing the findings.
