Facilitate the formation of effective strategies that drive growth, improved performance, and reduced risk. Contribute to the build and maturation of an enterprise strategy development capability that drives a consistent, structured approach to building strategies.
Lead effort to define scope and approach for Division/Department and enterprise initiatives. Mobilize and lead new working groups and/or committees to govern key change initiatives as needed. Define multi-year approach/view (i.e., roadmap).
Analyze options and processes to guide organizational decision-making. Ensure proper evaluation of market, customers, competition, capabilities, talent, financial impact, and risk are considered to improve effectiveness and guide decision making.
Present content at various governance functions; manage the development of comprehensive content and materials, analysis of complex data sets, or analysis and optimization of data structures.
Interact professionally at many different levels, routinely with senior management to negotiate, influence and gain consensus. Communicate verbally and in writing with senior management on status of initiatives on a regular basis, in a professional and understandable manner.
Exercise usual authority of a manager concerning staffing, performance appraisals, promotions, salary recommendations, performance management and terminations.
Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite. Design, implement, maintain and enhance internal controls to mitigate risk on an ongoing basis. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.
Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.

Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience
9 or more years’ relevant work experience
3 or more years’ managerial experience
Bachelors’ degree in Finance, Economics, Math, Accounting, Engineering, or Business Administration Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) or advanced degree
Advanced analytical ability

Overview:
Manages a variety of enterprise-wide initiatives simultaneously while managing a portfolio of initiatives. Works closely with the senior managers within the Bank to manage a portfolio of key initiatives and lead critical projects related to supporting strategic objectives of the Bank, improving risk management, ensuring efficiency and sustainability of core processes and positioning the Bank to meet evolving regulatory expectations. Sets direction for overall planning and implementation of time sensitive, critical, programs and/or projects and leads development of methodologies, processes, and plans, assembles teams and manages issue identification and resolution. Ensures appropriate industry outreach efforts.

This is an east coast remote eligible position. Remote options may be considered within the M&T Bank east coast footprint which includes, but is not limited to:
Anticipated Travel Requirements:
Employees in this position should be prepared to travel at least once per quarter within the M&T Bank east coast footprint (primarily to Buffalo, NY). Travel may occur more often than this and is based upon the needs of the business and projects assigned. Employees residing outside of the Buffalo market are anticipated to travel more often than those already located here.
M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $118,945.80 - $198,243.00 Annual (USD). The successful candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation. The range listed above corresponds to our national pay range for this role. The specific pay range applicable to you may vary based on your location.Location
