- Develop and maintain an understanding of the global defense landscape, including competitors, customers, and suppliers; stay abreast of relevant geopolitical, threat, and technology trends
- Gather, combine, cleanse, and analyze quantitative data (e.g., company financials, market projections) to understand trends and correlations, generate financial scenarios, and develop insights and actionable recommendations
- Generate clear and concise written communications (e.g. Powerpoint, memo/email) to convey findings and recommendations
- Conduct primary and secondary research to generate high-quality and actionable environmental analysis (e.g., defense spending, competitor, customer, supplier, technology landscapes)
- Support Raytheon Strategic Business Units (SBUs) in understanding component market segments and competitive landscapes critical to SBU and Sub-SBU level strategic planning
- Help maintain strategic competitive intelligence repository of key open source information (e.g. public financials, press releases, articles) providing insights into Raytheon top competitors’ strategic priorities, product/service offerings, and addressable markets
- Develop and contribute to the constant improvement of research processes, tools, templates and models, and outputs/visuals used by the team
- Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field or in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience
- U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will require the ability to access US-only data and may require the ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance
- Analytical and research skills, comfort collecting data and insights from disparate sources and generating sound analysis
- Experience analyzing large data sets and distilling findings and recommendations into managerial summaries
- Experience using Power Point and Excel (e.g., V-LOOKUPS, pivot tables, formulas)
- Ability to maintain multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines while maintaining high standards for research quality and analysis
- Comfort operating in a fast paced and dynamic environment
- Strong written and oral communication
- B.S. in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Science, Mathematics, or a related subject
- Experience using leading analytics and visualization tools (e.g. Tableau, Power BI)
- Experience applying strategy frameworks, methodologies, and approaches
- Experience in strategy, finance, or corporate development functions, or consulting experience
- Market sizing or financial forecasting experience
- Understanding of the defense industry, including the acquisition, regulation, and threat environment

RemoteSupporting RTX’s Raytheon business unit, the Strategy & Transformation team is seeking a Strategy Analyst. The Strategy & Transformation team generates a range of recurring and event-driven analyses each year focused on characterizing Raytheon’s performance and positioning relative to industry peers, and crafting forward-looking strategies to ensure that Raytheon achieves its business objectives. Example projects may include market segment prioritization/positioning, growth strategy development, portfolio analysis, financial modeling, long-range strategic planning, and/or enabling technology strategy development that informs organic/inorganic investment.
The Analyst role will focus on the collection, synthesis, analysis, and presentation of information gathered across Raytheon internal and external sources. The analyst will work with a combination of qualitative data (e.g., market / competitor research) and quantitative data (e.g., company financials, public filings, government budgets) to develop insights and actionable recommendations for Raytheon. A successful candidate will bring attention to detail, commitment to quality, and a natural curiosity for business strategy. They will possess strong data analysis skills, financial acumen and enthusiasm for shaping critical business decisions at Raytheon.
Relocation is not available: This position can be located at any Raytheon facility or be remote within close proximity to a Raytheon facility. Major Raytheon facilities exist in the Los Angeles, Tucson, Boston, Dallas, Huntsville, AL, and Washington, D.C. metropolitan areas.

The salary range for this role is 64,000 USD - 128,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
