Job Description
- Req#: 360
- Prepare federal, state, and local corporate, partnership, and Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) tax returns to ensure Regency’s tax compliance.
- Ensure Regency’s quarterly compliance related to financial statement reporting by tax provision calculations and REIT testing.
- Assist in forecasting taxable income and project dividend payout requirements to maintain REIT status.
- Complete other special projects as needed, including but not limited to basis analyses, partnership adjustments (Sec. 754, 704, etc.), taxable income forecasts, fixed asset projects, like-kind exchange implementation, etc.
- Research in-depth tax issues as necessary, including the application of tax codes, rulings, and cases to Regency’s specific fact patterns.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- Masters degree in Tax preferred
- CPA license preferred
- Two to three years of experience preparing federal and state tax returns for C-Corporations and Partnerships
- Experience utilizing tax research tools, including BNA and CCH AnswerConnect preferred
- Experience preparing quarterly and annual provisions in accordance with ASC 740 preferred
- Big 4 or regional accounting firm experience preferred
- Prior experience in the real estate industry preferred
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software and tax compliance software
- General knowledge of partnership and corporate taxation at both federal and state levels
- Ability to analyze and interpret financial statements for use in identifying tax issues
- Strong attention to detail and deadlines

The Senior Tax Accountant will work with the Tax Director and Sr. Manager to prepare federal and state income tax returns and taxable income estimates for Regency and related entities.
