Job Description

- Work with the art and development teams to ensure the smooth integration of 3D models, textures, and animations into the game engine.
- Optimize game assets for performance without compromising visual quality.
- Create and maintain technical art documentation for asset pipelines and workflows. E.g. “Technical Art Bible”
- Develop and implement shaders to create visually appealing effects for unit characters and environments.
- Collaborate with the artists to bring high-quality visual effects to life within the game engine.
- Assist in the creation of rigs and skeletons and ensure proper integration of animations into the game.
- Troubleshoot and solve any technical issues related to animation pipelines.
- Design and create tools or scripts to improve the efficiency of the art pipeline and reduce manual work for artists.
- Provide support for artists in using game engine tools and asset management systems.
- Work closely with game designers, programmers, and other artists to ensure that assets meet technical requirements.
- Provide feedback on visual quality and performance to ensure the game’s aesthetic and technical goals are met.
- Support the developers (e.g. code review and examples) of aspects related to art aspects implementations
- Monitor and improve the performance of game assets, especially for unit-based mechanics, to ensure smooth gameplay across various platforms.
- Work with the engineering team to identify performance bottlenecks and provide solutions.
- Identify and troubleshoot technical issues related to art assets and game systems.
- Provide timely fixes and solutions to prevent delays in the game development cycle.
- 3+ years as a Technical Artist in mobile game development within Unity - MUST
- Proficiency in shader development and optimization.
- Strong experience in performance profiling and mobile optimization.
- Experience in industry-standard software such as Maya, Blender.
- Proven experience as a Technical Artist, particularly within unit-based games or real-time applications.
- Strong experience with Unity3D
- Solid understanding of shaders, materials, and visual effects.
- Strong understanding of performance optimization techniques in real-time 3D environments.
- Excellent problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills.
- Love and passion for gaming
- Experience with mobile graphics APIs (OpenGL ES, Vulkan, Metal).
- Shipped mobile game titles showcasing technical art and optimization work.
- Experience with continuous integration and deployment systems.
- Knowledge of advanced rendering techniques such as PBR (Physically-Based Rendering)
