      Purpose

      This position is responsible for the coordination, implementation and provision of a range of treatment services as dictated by the needs of the clients and their families. The Residential Therapist has the responsibility of assessing the treatment needs of all residents, developing corresponding treatment plans and ensuring that services required to clients these goals are arranged or provided by Holly Hill. The Residential Therapist is responsible for case management services to include coordination of services with referring and other agencies, individual, group and family treatment services. They act as the treatment team leader in providing clinical direction and mentoring to direct care staff, cottage coordinators and support services.

      Essential Job Function:

      • Interviews, assesses and completes intake documents for new clients entering the residential program
      • Coordinates the development and ongoing implementation of each client’s individual treatment plan
      • Provides all necessary individual, group and family treatment as indicated by the treatment needs of the client
      • Schedules and chairs initial and quarterly treatment plan meetings
      • Evaluates clients’ progress on treatment goals and objectives in conjunction with the treatment team, client and family. Modifies and updates treatment plan as needed
      • Provides referral and linkage to other community resources to ensure that treatment goals are met. Acts as a liaison between Holly Hill and those community resources
      • Maintains regular contact with Department for Community Based Services (DCBS) workers and others involved in the client’s treatment. Reports all incidents to DCBS, parents and appropriate authorities within required regulation guidelines
      • Maintains regular contact with each client’s family and significant others as dictated by the treatment plan and regulations. Provides family therapy when indicated
      • Completes documentation including individual and group therapy notes, monthly and quarterly summaries, monthly Impact Plus reports, treatment plans, statistical reports, intake and assessment forms within regulation guidelines and time frames
      • Assumes a leadership role in the cottage treatment team in assuring that each client’s treatment, care and safety needs are being met. Provide direction, support and mentoring to Adolescent Treatment Workers, Cottage Coordinators, volunteers and other staff in all decisions that affect the client’s treatment
      • Assists in any crisis intervention efforts to maintain the safety of the clients including participating in physical management of clients when necessary
      • Coordinates discharge planning as an ongoing process of treatment. Provides short-term aftercare or referrals to alternative aftercare prior to discharge of clients.
      • Leads family support, education groups, seminars or trainings as needed
      • Keeps Director of Residential Treatment apprised of all significant treatment issues within the program
      • Meets regularly with consulting psychiatrist to assure mental health and medication needs of residents are met
      • Maintains on-call responsibilities for crisis intervention and clinical direction as needed
      • Assumes a leadership role both on campus and in the community to assure that each client’s treatment, care and safety needs are being met
      • Provides direction, support and mentoring to Adolescent Treatment Workers, Cottage Coordinators, volunteers and other staff in all decision that affect the client’s treatment

      Job Requirements:

      • Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology or related field.
      • Five (5) years’ experience working with children and/or families
      • Holds and maintains these certifications as a professional. Lapsing/expiration of these certifications/licensure will result in suspension or termination of work:
      • Minimum of Kentucky Licensed Professional Associate (LPCA). Prefer LPCC or related licensure.

      Recommended Qualifications:

      • 7+ years’ experience working with families and / or families.
      • Knowledge of mental health systems, data and risk management, and accreditation standards. Leadership and critical thinking skills are essential to this role.
