      About The Opportunity
      Position Summary
      Supervises the receiving, storing, packing, and shipping of merchandise or materials. Maintains stock records and schedules.
      Key Duties And Responsibilities
      • Manages warehouse operations including receiving, shipping, inventory, and warehousing to assure company objectives in the areas of safety, productivity, quality, customer service, cost and profitability
      • Directs and manages shipping and/or receiving orders, including loading trucks, inspecting materials or product, and reconciling advanced shipping notices and bills of materials to assure accuracy
      • Manages dock traffic and ensures that all logistics suppliers follow appropriate policies and procedures
      • Maintains month-to-month inventory of work-in-process product and finished goods
      • Manages inventory of shipping materials and supplies, including stretch film, poly bags, shrinks, glue and any consumable materials needed
      • Directs and participates in cycle counts and physical inventory processes as required
      • Coordinates with key stakeholders to meet internal and external customer on-time-delivery demands
      • Collaborates with cross-functional leaders to support continuous improvement initiatives to drive operational excellence
      • Maintains adequate staffing levels to assure production requirements are met
      • Accountable for departmental key performance metrics to ensure scorecard objectives are met
      • Provides guidance on staffing, training, employee relations and performance management to develop and enhance the salaried and hourly shipping and receiving team, working closely with direct reports
      • Maintains industry, professional and technical knowledge by networking, attending industry events, and reviewing professional publications

      Essential to this Position
      1. Leads and coordinates the shipping and receiving of containers from customers to suppliers.
      2. Interacts with customer/supplier ensuring tasks are completed in a timely manner, with effective follow-up.
      3. Assesses manpower needs based on present and past production requirements.
      4. Observes and provides waste reduction opportunities related to employee productivity.
      5. Prepares equipment and facility reports.
      6. Assists with the design, layout (striping), maintenance and continuous improvement of the work area(s).
      7. Ensures ORBIS safety rules and policies are maintained and followed.
      8. Adhere to facility 5S housekeeping standards.
      9. Support and assist in the execution and continuous improvement of the quality policy and procedures.
      10. Computer entry into spreadsheet/data base input.
      11. Administrative functions, as required.

      At least 4 years relevant experience required
      Knowledge, Skills, Or Abilities Desired
      • Knowledge of and ability to use and influence organization's policies, standards and procedures guiding manufacturing processes
      • Knowledge of strategies and tools for controlling and optimizing the factors that lie between the purchase of raw materials and delivery of finished products
      • Ability to effectively manage the business relationship and transactions with the suppliers of raw materials or product components
      • Knowledge of issues and considerations for effectively managing local or distributed inventories of raw materials, work in progress and finished goods
      • Knowledge of the processes, tools and operational considerations for effective and efficient movement of goods and materials throughout the manufacturing cycle
      • Knowledge of the day-to-day operations of a manufacturing plant or facility

      • Primarily works in a production and/or warehouse setting with time also spent in an office setting
      • Frequent walking and standing required
      • Occasional travel required
      • Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.

      • Basic understanding of budgets and P&L Statements
      • Ability to understand various manufacturing scheduling systems, such as MRP
      • PC Literate, including MS Office (Word, Excel, Access)
      • Knowledge of LEAN tools
      • Bi-Lingual skills preferred (required for positions outside the US)
      • Pro-active attitude about the job and company
      • Ability to handle the stress of working with others
      • Availability outside of normal business hours
      • Ability to assess employee performance and coach and develop others
      • Desire to advance within the company, including relocation if needed
      • Ability to travel to other sites as needed
