An opening is available for Service Technician in the Utility Services Department. Overall duties include, but are not limited to maintaining repairs on gas, water and electrical meters, devices and systems, performing various pressure checks, and turning services on and off.? This position also assists with blocking and/or unblocking gas, water, and electrical services as required and sets new meters as necessary.? Further duties include acquiring check readings on services as prescribed by the Customer Service Department, checking for unauthorized turn-on of meters, repairing water leaks on meters as needed, performing change outs on water, gas and electric meters as required, conducting water pressure checks for customer, providing assistance to gas crews with the restoration of gas services and/or lighting pilots as needed and keeping accurate end-of-day service logs.

This position is regular hours 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Monday-Friday. This position is also required to be available for stand-by duties, off hours and weekends.

Required Skills:

Proficiency in calculations and record keeping; ability to anticipate needed supplies and stock the trucks with materials and supplies necessary to perform daily activities; the ability to utilize an assortment of machinery and equipment in the performance of daily tasks, including a pick-up truck, radio, meter detector, hand tools, mechanical tools, piping tools and other related supplies.

Pay Range:

$17.00 ? $25.70/hour (Range includes Levels 2 ? 1)
